Saturday, as our vacation progressed, we had made plans to go to the Newport Aquarium, across the river from Cincinnati. We had invited V and D, but due to financial considerations (and possibly early hours) they declined. I got up around 9:30 after a few hours of sleep - Nezmaster decided we should go see Indiana Jones at midnight the night before. The daystar, it burns...Neat movie - much better than Speed Racer. I loved the snake :) but that's the only teaser about the movie from me :)
So we drive to the aquarium. Foxwit is snoozing in the back seat and I am fighting to stay awake. I see a deer in the woods as we drive. Nez said I was asleep about 20 minutes, though I seriously doubt it was that long, if I was. He said I snored :). We got to the Aquarium, and discover it is in a mini mall of sorts. I buy cotton candy for later eating, which I had to check in at the counter -I might feed it to animals. Sigh. A chit, for cotton candy... ah well. It was their grand opening for their Frog Bog. It was pretty crowded, but bearable by far. I got a lot of cool pictures, though I did got from over 200 down to 100 pictures.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/64413776@N00/2521805297/in/set-72157605249390572/ I petted sharks, fed lorikeets (and was bitten pretty hard by one), looked at jellies, and birds, frogs, sharks, snakes, and skates. Foxwit bought plushies - I got a baby harp seal, Nez got a shark and Foxwit got a rust and orange turtle. We looked around at the food choices and it was decided that the only place we agreed on we could eat here in Louisville (Mitchell's Fish Market). So, Nez decided to cross the river to Cincinnati- which we went the wrong way. My batteries had died in my camera at this point so I couldn't take any pictures of the neat signs. There was one that said "No loud music", but my favorite was "Licking Valley Counseling Center". So, we turn around and cross the bright yellow bridge. As we are looking around for a good place to eat, we notice that roads are blocked off and policemen are flagging people around. Well, we get turned around and Nez decided that we need to see what this event is - since we weren't on any timetable. And a lot of the restaurants were closed for Memorial Day...so we thought. We park on 4th and Walnut and go up a block... to Taste of Cincinnati, several blocks of food festival. MMM. We ended up with an ear of corn, a bbq sandwich, rice pudding, a Indian pastry with potatoes and peas in a spicy sauce, lemonade, a french crepe with chicken marsala, potato pancake, cinnamon roasted almonds, drunken monkey (that was Nez), fried sauerkraut balls, cream puff, pork bites..mostly we got bits and shared them. Everything was yummy. This was really a great way to end the museum portion, though sushi would have been nice. The closest I saw was a spicy ca roll, and I saw yummier things. mmmmmm.... after this, we went home, where I read a book and dozed off.
