generalities

We had maybe 10 trick or treaters last night in the drizzle. At least 6 tried to do facepaint or some costume. I remember when it was if you didn't have anything, you got no candy. But ten again, I felt sorry for those trick or treating in the rain. Didn't do much yesterday. Returned the movies ( I rented season 2 of Lost) and picked up a little food to take home. Nez borrowed the car for an hour and came back 4 hours later. Also a parking ticket. I was getting in panic mode since I hadn't heard from him. He was going to U of L for possible counselling assistance. Earlier, Chaney was taken to the vet for her wheezing and bloody nose, and was diagnosed with emphesema, pneumonia, and a tumor on her gums. Cannot do anything about the tumor right now, so we're getting her gooshyfood so she can eat. She's definitely not fond of the medicine though. I held her down for the first dose- and she clawed me with her hind claws and one broke off in my leg. For a declawed cat, she knows how to use the ones she has! We also considered bowling, but decided against it due to weather. We knew Nez would want a ride to work so we stayed home. Probably a good thing - he was having trouble waking up.

Sunday--- ah sunday
Sensory overload.

Really.
We went to Delirium - Cirque du Soleau's music touring event in freedom hall. They started with a small concert by Nitza, who I think is one of their normal musicians, but am not completely sure. The violinist was for certain part of the music on stage. It was...wow. They used a lot of whitescreens for special effects during the performances, showing video of current events on stage, plus movie effects. Sometimes they were behind two stage screens, sometimes they were open. It was set in the center of an arena, so there were two sides you could watch. A man on a floating ball/balloon is going through a dream/journey through space, water, fire, earth and air. There were parallells to the planets as well - the dancers for love - which included two same sex pairings could be Venus, the mardi gras woman with the huge tent dress could be Jupiter - the colors matched, the tumblers Uranus, the hula hoops Saturn, the underwater one Neptune. So much to see and watch. There were a pair of dueling dancers that could have been Mars. There were doors and growing things, birth and blood cells, stars and people. It was absolutely amazing. I have to say I loved the changeling/knocker with his huge hammer. He was on stilts the whole performance and even did a jumprope with a hula hoop. There was a shaman, a woman in a hooped white swirling dress that changed as she moved. Singers, dancers, performers. And the man drifting through in his ball/balloon. Still, my favorite was the Knocker/changeling :)

It probably didn't help I finished lost that night either. My head really hurt when I started thinking about it as well.
