[ As the feed starts there's a sharp intake of breath, an almost but not quite a very bitter laugh. ]

I don't even need to be able to see through this fog to know what hellhole I've found myself in once again. That's okay, it's obviously not like I liked my temporary freedom from this cage or anything. [ Yes, the sarcasm is just oozing from her ( Read more... )

[ Is that...? Well, he's not too surprised anymore. Sunako came back, too. ]

Welcome back, I guess. Not very welcome, though, right?

[ Oh, she recognizes his voice too. If not just because it's only been a few hours tops for her since her last moment in Discedo. Maybe that's why it's more genuinely deadpan than her anger from earlier, even though it's still somewhere in there veeery slightly. ]

I don't know. Do they tell twice convicted people 'welcome back' too when they go to jail?

I wouldn't know. [ :| ]

Get used to the bodies. They've been here like two weeks now and nobody's taken care of them yet.

Glad to see some things never change here, like how no one here in particular cares about that sort of thing, as with most things.

[ the bitterness is still there, yup. ]

Has it really been months? Someone else told me that.

Yeah, it's the end of September according to these things. I should be starting Year 9 about now...heh. [ not like he'd be going to school anyway. truant spider kid extraordinaire, here. ]

Oh, uh, I grabbed those poems you had. And that Marco guy has the cat.

I think the last time I was here, it was.. July? Ah, and then they only gave me a few hours tops in my own world in exchange. How bothersome. [ not to mention it was just a few hours of her usual fooling around and bickering with her bodyguard, not very useful. ]

... Ah, right, I must have left those behind when I disappeared. Would you be against giving them back? They're sort of important to me, but finders keepers, I guess. And I'll have to ask him about Bern-chan then, yeah.

Really? They were just nonsense to me, so go ahead and take them. The cat was pretty weird too, but I bet it was just hungry.

They probably wouldn't make much sense to anyone but me. And even then I still don't fully get most of it. [ But they do say something about Rika, and maybe Bernkastel as well, and that's what she is interested in. ]

Bern-chan was just acting after her namesake, I guess. That cat used to bother me and beg for attention all the time when I was here.

It's probably all metaphors or something.

Yeah, I couldn't even send a message to anybody without her trying to butt in. [ okay, a bit of an exaggeration, but still ] Who's she named after?

Well, they're poems, after all. That much is only to be expected. I can understand some of them though, like the one about 'the cat in the box'.

[ and, well, it sounds enough like that cat to her, yup.. ]

A rather bothersome person from back home, a witch who had taken interest in me. Or rather, in bothering me.

That's a good name for her, then. Haha.

[ he laughs, then after a second goes to a serious face. ] ...It's kinda weird you came back when the scientists are getting replaced, or something. Apparently there's this other group who's gonna try to take over.

voice. isolatedpiece September 29 2011, 20:52:11 UTC
Replaced? ... So is it like mutiny or a peaceful takeover? Like.. just switching the group of scientists for another group of their organisation or whatever?

[ always eager for information. ]

I don't really know. They don't seem to want the same things as the old scientists do, but they're still pretty shady. They said they'd get rid of all these stupid bodies if we'd give them transport from Discedo to Spero, so a bunch of people are working on the subway. [ his voice gets a bit bitter on "the stupid bodies". he's really sick and tired of them. that's not the only thing he's mad about, either. ]

One of the other scientists destroyed all the machines in the observatory, so I've gotta go with the new group. That was the only way we could've gotten home, and they... [ if there was someone around to punch, he'd do it. ]

Of course they're shady, scientists would be scientists. If they wouldn't be shady, they would just offer us a way home already. [ her own voice is a bit bitter in return too - of course they would let her taste the freedom of home for just a few moments before pulling her back. of course. ] They're bargaining with the people here, though?

The obser-- ... ah, we talked about that back then, right? They blew up that thing?

They just broke all the machines! He just got a sledgehammer and- it's all just trash now, I can't fix any of that!

And yeah, they're bargaining, but they can't be the same group unless they just broke off from the ones we knew or something. [ he huffs a little, and scratches his cheek. ] In any case, they're probably better than those idiots.

The scientists wouldn't be the scientists without going out with a bang.. A bang which gets us even further from home, yeah, that sounds like exactly the sort of thing they would enjoy.

And sure, they may be better than them, but.. being better than complete trash still isn't very good.
