Ah, it's almost the seventh, isn't it? ... That means that by this time back home, we'd be having Tanabata festivals already.

[ Her voice sounds just as usual - pretty casual - deadpan, even. But suddenly there's a hint of something else in it too, perhaps slight bitterness if you listen closely enough and look through the first layer of deadpan

I agree, most things need to be worked for.

That's why I think Tanabata is a useless tradition. Sure, some people might find it fun, but it's just making wishes that will never be granted.

It's just a festival meant to distract people from their everyday routine.

It's a pretty lousy distraction then. Besides, we have more things to do here than sit around and celebrate festivals.

Agreed, but some people feel that tradition is important.

I can't say I can really find myself agreeing with that belief.. or even understanding it.

I don't understand their beliefs either... but they have their reasons.

Ah.. I can't stop them from doing what they want either way, so I'll just let them have their fun, even if it's not really my sort of thing.

It isn't causing danger to anyone at the very least.

I don't know. They might get too distracted by the festivities to notice a cougar sneaking up to them.

Is anyone celebrating the festival here?

I'm not sure.. I haven't heard about it yet, but it wouldn't be surprising for some Japanese people to do so.

It doesn't seem that anyone is making a large event out of it.

I guess that's for the best then. There's more stuff to be done.
