Ok, it was someone's 36th birthday on November 13th. 36!! The one, the only Kimura Takuya!
Before I even heard of SMAP, I'd heard of Kimutaku. His fame had spread way outside of Japan, as Japan's "tens of thousands of people swoon" idol. His popularity was phenomenal.
SMAP's single Fly was the second j-music anything that I bought (first goes to Chage & Aska), their Birdman concert the very first j-concert I ever bought, and Beautiful Life was the very first dorama I ever watched (watching Oshin as a kid in the 80s doesn't count). In 2000, Smap x Smap was airing, and today, Smap x Smap is still airing. Kimutaku is still serving up exquisite creations on Bistro, topping those favorite man polls, and pulling in the ratings. So. I guess not much has changed! Kids these days, how dare they say SMAP are old.
Kimutaku is a star. Like Nakai remarked, at moments where no one can successfully pull off a challenge (even if it's a really stupid one), Kimutaku will step up and do it, cos he's kakkoii like that. I've never seen him NOT be able to do anything. Luckily Kimutaku does some super baka stuff too, so he's not too cool for you.
I would like to say that this man must have been photographed millions of times. I embarked on a photo hunt and was quickly, massively, overwhelmed. I didn't even get to his infamous an an shoot. So there will have to be a Part 2 to this in the future.
Idol in training
Full fledged idol.
This is from their 2006 tour. I love 2006 Takuya a lot.
Can't leave out Teppei onii-sama!!
1990s idol!!! lol
Femme fatale
I think that's Takuya's lab, Bonita. Takuya's parents run a family restaurant, named Bonita after her. I can't remember where it is, but it was definitely a fan pilgrimage site.
Never could I hope for hair like this.
This is for you, B-chan.
Let's finish on a happy note!! :D Takuya wishes you a good weekend!!
