the netherlands/uruguay game is at the 38th minute as i type this. instead of watching closely, i spent the last few minutes watching this
amazing mesut oezil video and reading comments --
oh wait, uruguay equalizer! i'm watching on univision (spanish language station) & the commentator is just shrieking "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAL!!"
forlan scored. anyways, yes, this amazing mesut oezil video. it is 60 yr old mesut in the year 2050, balding and grey-haired, eating room service and eyeballing the laydeez to a funky background track. i think it's awesome of him to do this. and uh i think he still looks pretty good like that. say what?! what is the inexplicable appeal of this alien-eyed lad? yes, i kind of love him.
of course i also totally love the glorious herr schweinsteiger and miro my hero but i also love the whole team. i wish they could stay together forever; this is turning out to be my favorite german team ever. the 4:0 match against argentina was incredible - i couldn't believe how they just KEPT SCORING. friedrich's unbridled joy at scoring made me smile. mueller: AMAZING. oezil surprisingly seemed suppressed during the argentina game, but he made a beautiful floating cross to miroooo for goal #4. schweini was beyond awesome. i love how there are no divas on this team: team spirit is superstrong & it comes through in their play. & they're so low-key - they train, go out and do their job with little fuss, don't gloat, and then retire on little group safari field trips.
ironically, argentina's loss made me like messi more. i got nervous every time he had the ball. and he seemed really devastated by the loss, and his tears, and post-game reaction...he seemed to care & give it his all, unlike certain players who seemed to feel entitled and unbothered by defeat and commenced partying/holidaying.
as you can tell because i'm posting while keeping only one eye on the uruguay/dutch game. got to keep energy for spain/germany tomorrow. did the dutch just get away with an offside goal?
anyways, i was pretty terrified before the argentina game, but this is even worse, because germany won't have mueller, for one. & bc after germany's performance against argentina, well, germany really have been playing the best out of everyone. if judged by performance alone, germany is most deserving of the trophy. but like players and several teams have already mourned, this is a cruel sport. T_T ahh, i don't want to think about this. i need to adopt the brave and fearless attitude klose and jogi and schweini have been displaying.
the paraguay/spain game was dull till the second half. spain needed some luck to win it.
so i was reading up on schweini and before he got lectured by his biggest fangirl angela merkel and reformed his ways, he was allegedly a bad boy. why? because he did things like sneak his girlfriend onto training grounds in the middle of the night to use the hot tub...& got CAUGHT. lmao. & then he tried to say she was his cousin. omg schweini lol!!
b has been offline since she went back to nationalmannschaft hq #1. i hope she is enjoying herself! the german team wrote a thank you note for fans like miss b back home. how sweet! lol how they all signed it too. i am supporting the right team. *goes back to browsing germany wc gear*
3:1, all right i think the dutch have got this. i haven't liked their playing style though. & i feel bad for forlan.
this is also another funny football post
with some hotpants outfits that beggar belief.
