So I moved in yesterday and finally met my roommate, Jane. Seriously? it's scary how alike we are. Both love Sark in Alias, and we were going through DVDs and she says, "oh I love this movie (A Knight's Tale) because of this red hair guy--" "Have you seen Firefly?" "OMG YES I KNEW I'D FINE SOMEONE!" "OMG Will you go see Serenity with me?!" "OMG YES!" Good moments. And she loves Ewan and JRM and when I explain Velvet Goldmine as, "it's very ... gay. Ewan and JRM are...together," she responds with, "Well that's even better, then!" This is me SQUEEING because I have a cool roommate. Don't think she's an actual slasher, but I can convert her easily if she thinks Ewan/JRM is hot. ^___^
Am going to kidnap the digital camera from The Father before he leaves so I can get some pics of the dorm room up on here. It's quite spacious, as far as dorms go, though we're in the basement, or "garden level," and our window is of a fire hydrant and a brick wall (and scaffolding!) so we get no light. But I bought a really awesome floor lamp, so we'll be fine. Plus, we're both night-owls, so sunlight is overrated. We have a kitchen nook and a reading nook under our beds, plus an actual kitchen in the common room (along with a pingpong table WOOT.) We also have a TV with VCR and DVD player, but unfortunately, cable is only in the common room. Poo. But that's fine, since I only reallyreally need Lost and Alias. We have issues opening/locking our door, because it doesn't like shutting all the way, so you have to do this weird push-turn locking from the inside to lock it, and then when you unlock from the outside, you have to pull it towards you and turn the key strangely. We're working on getting the hang of it.
I'm slowly getting used to typing on my laptop which, by the way, is named Terence, and the external hard drive which is it's lurver is Obi. ^___^ I sit and pet them a lot. They're so shiny and pretty!
I must buy some posters for my walls, since the ones I have (and didn't bring--will have to have them mailed to me ^^; ) are smallish. Suggestions peas?
Had to take a math test this morning, which was a lot easier than I'd thought it would be. Didn't remember how to do ...that D word in calculus that Kelsey had to teach me because it was during May Term. Kelsey? What are those caaaalled.
That's it. Had a white-chocolate mocha for breakfast and it only cost $1.45 at the school cafe. I love college. ^___^
