I am listening to the new Sonic Youth album, "Rather Ripped", borrowed from a friend, and I of course love it. Those guys (and girl) have been making music for so long, and they are never short fo fresh ideas. I love Sonic Youth! ♥
I am pretty much all moved into my new apartment now. Well... I have all my basic needs, at least: bed, sofa, dresser, a small portion of my clothes, all bathroom stuff, entertainment unit, DVDs... The major item I have yet to move is my computer, and lemme tell ya, I am missin my baby!! I have until the first of July to get everything out, but everytime I go over to my old place, I am stunned all over again at the amount of CRAP I have. There is still so much stuff everywhere. I am living fine now, perfectly happy without everything (except for my computer), so what do I have all that other junk for?? OK, so I do miss having my Fraggle Hasbro Softies collection to look at everyday, and all my Harry Potter posters and cardboard cutouts, but I am making it without them.
As for my new apartment, omg it is so GREAT!! My memaw (what I have always called my grandmother on my Mom's side) bought me a couple nice bar stools for my kitchen counter as a housewarming gift, and I bought myself a set of three shadow-box-ish "nesting shelves" that I am using as a three-tiered end table, and the neatest wall clock I have ever seen. Here's a picture:
I am a little obsessed with my new place, so I am going to try not to gush.
Last week, I only came to work for one full day, left early two days, and didn't come at all Wednesday. I had a nasty stomach bug that kept my running for the toilet to puke every half hour, unless I stayed laying down all day. Even when I was laying down all day, though, my stomach was not happy by any stretch of the imagination. Wednesday I managed to peel myself off the couch to get some soup and jello from the grocery store, something that wouldn't make my condition worse, as it seemed everything I ate was a wrong choice. That was a rough trip. I dragged myself through the store, hanging from the shopping cart and groaning the whole time. I got some weird looks but I didn't give a damn.
OH!! I got some good news today!! I am getting a 7% raise this year!! This is great news mainly because I had been told and was expecting a 2.5% raise, which amounts to about $25 a month. Wow. But 7% is much better. And boy, do I need it!!
