How do you vocalise thought?
Is it something that only you can understand?
Is it foreign?

Spoken feelings and written words echo
Pain and loneliness drifts the two.
Each offers solace
Each offers counsel

How can you acknowledge thought?
Is it a memo that must be completed or left?
Is it forgettable?

The feelings conflict with the words.
Both unread, incomprehensible and cold.
Each scout for meaning
Each scout past regret.

How can you distinguish thought?
Is it words, rhythms, actions or feelings?
Is it comprehendible?

Words don’t describe the feelings.
Confusion builds barriers and tears bridges.
Each builds distraction
Each builds emptiness

How can you describe empty thought?
Is it a break, a time for reflection or denial?
Is it neglect?

Feelings are deterred by words.
Both blur thoughts and crack concentration.
Each squanders the other
Each squanders hope
