So You know those 10 dollar disposable cameras you see in CVS, or walmart, or wherever?
Guess what! They're making Digital ones now. The benefiit is that you can delete your last picture; and with the 20 dollar model you actualy have an LCD on the back to view your pictures. The catch is that after 25 pictures, you take it to CVS and never see it again. They then copy the pics to a CD for you, and give you a set of prints, and repackage the camera to sell to the next person. It's actually a pretty ingenious racket.
And now for the fun thing: If you make a special cable, say with USB on one end, and a palm III end on the other, you can now plug the camera into your computer. Course, the software is a pain in the butt, and the drivers you have to write yourself...
BUT if you follow the steps properly, and are willing to geek out a bit, you can very easily have a digital camera for 10 bucks. What's more, the cable you create can be used on all the Digital Cameras CVS sells... including their disposable digital VIDEO camera, so you can concievably have a digital video camera for as low as 30 dollars. ( I dont have the cash yet, but soon )
At any rate, I do have a 10 dollar digital camera, and today was my first day to play with it.
I have yet to overcome the 25 photo limit, although I should sometime soon.
I wandered about downtown DeLand; I'm not sure where I'll go tomorrow, but I'm going to try and post 25 pics a day.
All of these are clicky pops, just FYI.
This always make me think of the Kool-Aid Man.
I was mainly trying to see what kind of coloring I would get, and how fast the CCD is.
I think this is my favorite picture of the day.
Alot of these shots were taken just for architectural studies. Looking at the building, and its curves. Mainly for illustration purposes.
I really like this picture, but I'd like it a bit more if the car in the lower left were gone. That said, if I had waited for it to move, I myself would have been hit. Ah the hazards of shooting in the middle of a busy street.
This was kind of a look at how the camera would hold high contrast images. When I play with the RAW file, I can actually get quite a bit of differentiation out of this, far more than I expected. Of course, none of these have been color corrected, or edited in any way, so this version doesn't really reflect that.
Again, the contrast here looks better when I play with it a bit. The left side of the picture is an alley that is completely green with overgrowth.
As stated in the previous post, I've yet to decide if I like this better crooked or not; I present it here at the original angle.
I just thought this looked ridiculous, a PT cruiser with painted fames
I like to take pictures of reflections, its a sickness...
Anyway, that's all for now, another 25 coming tomorrow.
