Jin walks quickly across the hall opening the door to his apartment and letting himself in. As soon as the door is closed he takes a deep breath. His mind is starting to hurt as he struggles to come to terms with what just happened.
“I need a shower” Jin says out loud “I need a really hot shower”
He heads down the hallway and into the living room. He was right, his apartment is an exact replica of Ueda’s. The only difference being that Jin’s lounge room is completely empty, the only thing in the room his unpacked suitcase.
Jin steps into the shower, letting the hot water run down his face, soaking his hair. Jin stands under the shower for a few moments letting the heat soothe his tense muscles. The hot steam from the shower seems to be doing its job as Jin visibly relaxes.
Jin thinks back to what happened this evening. He must admit he didn’t think that he would be having sex tonight when he left work with two scripts and a contract to sign.
How had his day gone from boring meetings to hot and steamy sex with Ueda? With a man!?.........Jin just had sex with a man…………he can’t believe it. Jin’s body feels suddenly empty as reality crashes down around him. Well, Jin tries to rationalise, it was good……….it’s not like he didn’t enjoy it. Jin thinks about this for a bit longer………the sex with Ueda had been good, really good but………………………………..
Standing under the hot water Jin comes to a decision. Even though the sex had been really good (some of the best he had gotten in a while if he was being honest) and Ueda was super super hot, he doesn’t really want to do it again. It just wasn’t his thing.
Having made up his mind, Jin feels much better all of a sudden.
Jin puts all thought of Ueda aside as the aroma of roses and vanilla fills the air. ‘Ahhh……..this is relaxing. I love this smell’ Jin sighs contently.
When he’s finished his shower Jin trudges into his bedroom. It’s gotten late by now and he’s had an eventful day. As he climbs into bed Jin thinks again about his decision trying to reassure himself that he is making the right decision. Jin will need to explain to Ueda, that what happened was not going to happen again.
Jin hopes Ueda will understand. It had been his idea in the first place after all, he can’t be too upset if Jin tells him it was a onetime thing right?
“it doesn’t have to mean anything”
Yes, that’s right. Ueda had said that what they did didn’t have to mean anything. Ueda probably does this all the time. Letting Ueda down is no different than how Jin usually treats his women…….it is always the same for him…….one night stands only. Jin has never wanted to take a relationship any further than that.
Jin will get his chance to explain when they go out clubbing on Saturday night Jin reminds himself…….ahhh…….why did he agree to that again!? Jin just wasn’t thinking straight. Jin has never slept with a friend before so he doesn’t really know what to do about afterwards………..grrrr……this is going to be awkward Jin thinks.
With these thoughts running through his mind, Jin decides to sleep before anything weirder can possibly happen to him today. Jin puts aside all thoughts of ‘men’ as he slowly starts to fall asleep. The last thing Jin thinks about before he becomes dead to the world is ‘this is the first time all week I haven’t been thinking about Kame.’

Ueda lies in bed staring up at the ceiling. Only after he had finished talking to Kame on the phone did Ueda realise what he had just done. Ueda had cheated on Kame!......again! This was not the first time he had taken all his sexual frustration out on a stranger…….because that’s what Jin is a stranger.
Well, it’s not like Ueda actually cheated on Kame, they weren’t dating or anything. It’s just that every time Ueda does this he feels so guilty afterwards, how can he be in love with one person and then sleep with another.
Ueda really needs to apologise to Jin, sleeping with him had been a mistake.
Ueda had really liked Jin, he was good looking and an actor as well but it just wasn’t Kame. Ueda hadn’t really thought about what he was doing when he invited Jin in for a beer OR when he invited him out on Saturday night……….what the hell was I thinking………..this is going to be so awkward. Ueda doesn’t usually sleep with friends so he doesn’t really know what to do now. He could pretend like nothing happened and go back to being strangers with Jin but that impossible because Ueda had just invited him out!
Now that he thinks about it though, he is glad that he did. Ueda would really like to be friends with Jin and maybe if he apologies properly on Saturday night, Jin might forgive him. Ueda has the seeping suspicion that Jin is the type who usually sleeps around anyway so he is hoping Jin won’t be too hurt when he explains what happened.
Ueda’s thoughts are brought back to Kame as his guilt washes over him again. Ueda pretends to be happy around Kame but the truth is every time he sees the other his heart aches. Ueda has never actually told Kame how he feels because he knows it’s pointless. Kame doesn’t feel the same way; this Ueda knows for sure and even if he did, he knows it would be impossible for Kame to be with some-one.
Something pulls at Ueda’s heart deep inside, he knows that there is no point in going down this road again as it only leads him into pain and suffering but once he starts thinking about Kame he can’t stop.
Ueda has been in love with Kame for over 3 years now. From the moment they met he knew that he didn’t want to be with anyone else. Unfortunately for him though Kame actually had a boyfriend at that time and Ueda had had to settle for the role of best friend.
After everything that went down with Kame and the whole Koki thing, Ueda knew that he had missed his chance. After Kame had been in and out of hospital for several months, he knew he was never going to get his sweet and innocent Kazuya back. This hurt Ueda more than anything. Not only had the people who destroyed Kazuya’s life turned him into an emotional wreck but they had also shattered all of Ueda’s dreams of spending his life with Kame.
He knew that Kame had been suffering from various issues in his life even before the incident but at least he had still been a normal person back then.
Now, Kame can’t even bare to be around people anymore. He suffers from ‘aphephobia’ the doctors had said. A fear of being touched by people. In most cases people suffering from ‘aphephobia’ can’t stand being touched by people of the opposite sex but in Kame’s case its men he has a problem with.
Ueda’s heart breaks inwardly as he remembers the first time he had tried to hug Kame after the incident. Kazuya had freaked out majorly, almost suffocating from lack of air as his body shut down in fear………….or the time when they had taken the train to university. They had to get off after only two stops because Kame needed to throw up all over the pavement. The crowded train had petrified him.
Ueda has long since given up on the possibility that they could be together. When he first made the decision to remain as Kazuya’s best friend only, Ueda had been devastated. He had decided that if he couldn’t be with Kame the way he wanted than the least he could do was always be there for him to protect him and take care of him……….it was the least he could do for the one he loved.
That was when Ueda had started sleeping around. At first it had been a senpai from his university and then a man who hit on him at a club. Since then Ueda always sleeps with random women or men whenever he’s feeling down. And tonight was no exception he thinks as he remembers what happened with Jin.
It all started a week ago when Kazuya was supposed to meet up at his place to go over and assignment for class. Before Kame arrived Koki had showed up at Ueda’s apartment. Ueda was too shocked to stop Koki from entering as he demanded to know where Kazuya lived.
Ueda had no idea how Koki had found out where he lives; he had taken special precautions to ensure that his address couldn’t be easily found, in hope that it would prevent this exact situation.
Ueda had never been scared of Koki even when they were younger but at in that moment Ueda had been petrified. Thinking about what Koki had done to Kazuya and everything that he had caused. Fear swelled inside of him as reality hit home. How did Koki find him? Why was he here? What was he going to do when Kame showed up at his apartment? Suddenly fear gripped his stomach for both his and Kame’s safety. Ueda knew what he had to do. He couldn’t tell Koki where Kame was at all costs. He had to pretend like he had nothing to do with Kazuya, that he hadn’t seen him since the incident.
“I don’t know where Kame is” Ueda lied “I haven’t seen him for years”
“You’re lying, I know you are” Koki had responded distrust in his expression “I know that you where in love with him back then, there’s no way you would have abandoned him”
“what like you did!” Ueda had accused
“I didn’t abandon him, he pushed me away” Koki retorted clearly not buying Ueda’s attempt to side track him. “I’m not here to hurt him anyway, I just need to talk to him………explain what really happened”
“No way……I don’t believe you, you’re the one who caused this whole mess and even if I wanted to I couldn’t tell you where he is…like I said I haven’t seen him since back then…..he pushed me away too” the hurt in his voice real as he remembered how his sweet Kazuya had been taken from him.
Koki must have heard it to as his expression changes from anger to pleading in a split second.
“Please Tat-chan just tell me where he is” Koki had begged looking genuinely scared.
Ueda takes in Koki’s appearance for the first time. As expected Koki looks different since the last time they met two years ago. He has short spiky hair and he’s wearing a dark t-shirt and jeans. His clothes looked nice Ueda had noticed, he’s was even wearing an expensive watch. He must be doing well for himself Ueda had thought……….until he noticed the faint bruises under the watch that run up Koki’s left arm.
As Ueda took in the bruises he got the faint feeling that Koki has gotten himself into some sort of trouble again and that his life depends on finding out this information. Ueda feels no remorse for Koki as he shakes his head. What-ever happens to him when he returns without Kazuya’s information…..well he deserves everything he gets Ueda had thought.
“Don’t you dare call me Tat-chan. Leave now” Ueda had warned “or I will call the police, I’m sure they would love to know where you have been hiding for last few years” Koki seemed to think better of it as he opened his mouth to reply. His expression still pleading.
“Fine I will leave, but I know you know where he is……..if you see him could you tell him I came by…………..I just want a chance to explain………..please” Koki says tears threatening to spill down his cheeks. Ueda hadn’t believed his act for a second.
“Sure, but like I said its impossible…….I don’t see him anymore” Ueda says again as he walked over to the door, holding it open clearly expecting Koki to leave.
As soon as Koki was out of his apartment Ueda slammed the door shut and locked it. He remembers how the tears had started to tumble down his cheeks as he crumbled to the floor………that was scary, Ueda had thought………no wonder Kame can’t handle life sometimes if this is how he always feels.
As Ueda sat on the floor he become more and more worried as Kame didn’t show up at his apartment like they planned. He had begun imaging things.
What if Koki was waiting outside and got to Kazuya before he arrived at the apartment?
Ueda called Kame’s phone only to receive voice mail. Ueda had stayed up all night worrying about Kame. Eventually he had decided to call Kame’s house. It was the only thing he could think of. Even though he knew Kame’s father would get angry again because he called he just needed to know if Kame was safe at home. Sora, Kame’s brother had answered the phone on the 4th ring.
“I just wanted to know if Kame was home” Ueda had inquired trying to stay calm after Sora had pointedly ignored his question the first time.
“You know you shouldn’t call here, you are only causing more problems for him” Sora had replied still ignoring the question.
“I know I’m not supposed to call Sora, I don’t want to talk to him I just need to know whether he is safe at home or not”
“why did something happen” the boy asked. God Kame’s brother could be annoying sometimes.
“No he just didn’t rock up at my place like -“
“Look, Kame is…….fine” Sora cuts him off “he’s just in bed. He’s been sick” Ueda knew that Sora was lying but at least it meant that Kame was safe.
“Thanks Sora, could you tell him-“ Sora cuts him off again
“Dad’s coming, I’ve got to go…..don’t worry I won’t tell Dad that you called he is still angry about the last time you showed up, I don’t want to make anything worse and neither should you, so don’t call here anymore okay, it only gets Kame in trouble.” Ueda was left listening to the dial tone as Sora hung up.
After finding out the next day that Kame had feel down the stairs, Ueda had been slightly relived. He wasn’t happy that Kame had broken his arm but he was happy to know that he hadn’t run into Koki like Ueda had feared. The younger hadn’t mentioned anything about seeing Koki so Ueda couldn’t help but be relived.
Over the next few days Ueda had found himself getting more and more anxious. What did Koki really want when he rocked up at his place? Is he back to hurt Kazuya? Will he really be able to protect him if Koki wants something from Kame? This is the state that Jin found him in when they bumped into each other in the hallway earlier in the evening. Ueda had been so strung up on Kame, sleeping with Jin just kind of happened.
Ueda is pulled out of his thoughts as his phone rings. It’s Kame again. Even though it’s really late Ueda would never ignore Kame’s phone call. He answers almost immediately.
“Hey Tat-chan, about going out on Saturday night, I’m not so sure……I have a ton of homework to do….” Kame says trailing off.
“Kame did you really just call me at 12 o’clock in the night to say that you’re not coming out with me on Saturday” Ueda says feigning outrage. Ueda only gets silence from the other end.
“Shit Kame did you get in trouble with your Dad again?” Ueda asks knowing that it must be something major for Kame to call him. Maybe his father had found out that Ueda had called the other night.
Kame gives a non-committal ‘mmm’ as his only sign of hearing the question.
“Jesus, Kame tell me what happened” Ueda demands
“well, he um….he heard me talking to you on the phone earlier….you know how he is when he finds out that………..” Kame doesn’t have to finish his sentence for Ueda to know what he means. Kame’s father is a control freak. When he found out that Kame was gay he went ape shit on his arse. He may as well have beaten Kame for all the good his yelling and screaming had done. To put it bluntly Kame’s father is a total jerk. There was nothing going on between him and Kame, not that Ueda couldn’t hope but his father still seemed to hate Kame hanging around with anybody, particularly males.
“Yeh don’t worry. I get it” Ueda sighs. They both know its pointless fighting against Kame’s father when it only make’s Kame’s life more difficult.
“I’m sorry” Kame starts before Ueda cuts him off.
“Kame you don’t have to be sorry for anything. It’s not your fault that your father is an arsehole.” Ueda knows his words are harsh but it’s the truth.
“Ueda you know its not like that, he’s just trying to protect me” Kame defends his father.
“I know, but still……I’m here to protect you too you know.” Well at least he tries to protect him Ueda thinks as he remembers about Koki turning up at his door. He still hasn’t told Kame about that.
“I know” is all Kame says sounding resigned to the fact that he actually needs protecting. “I really did want to go out though, it has been a while since I’ve been out with you and even after last week I have been feeling really good lately…..I dunno I feel like something has changed” Ueda listens to Kame in awe. This is the first time he has ever expressed any desire to actually go out with Ueda. Usually Ueda has to drag from his bedroom with promises and bribery. Ueda thinks this is a good sign, a great sign! Maybe the real Kame is finally resurfacing from his deep dark ocean. Ueda makes his mind up right there and then to not tell Kame about Koki, there is no way he is going to destroy the little bit of happiness that Kame has got back in his life, however it happened.
“Maybe I could talk to Amaya” Ueda suggest knowing full well that his pretty face is good for something “maybe she can be persuaded to help us out” It wouldn’t be the first time that Amaya has helped Ueda sneak Kame out of the house.
“Ueda, you don’t have to do that…..I know what she asks for in return…..and you don’t have to do that because of me” Kame says. Kame actually has no idea what Amaya asks for in return, he only thinks he knows because Ueda feed him some lie saying she cons him into taking her on a date every time. It isn’t a total lie though, she just asks for a bit more than a date is all. Ueda feels the worst kind of guilt every time he sleeps with Kame’s sister but he does it anyway just so Kame can get out of the house.
“Kame it’s fine….I sent her a text just now.” Ueda states, clearly not taking no for an answer. After talking to Kame for another ten minutes Ueda decides he needs to get some sleep if he is expected to be at class tomorrow in the morning. His exquisite beauty does not come without beauty sleep he tells Kazuya seriously before he hangs up.
Amaya texts him back as soon as he gets off the phone.

Ueda wonders if Kame’s father has any idea what his beautiful prestigious daughter gets up to in her free time. Probably not Ueda thinks with a chuckle.
This will be good Ueda thinks before he falls asleep. He will be able to go out and have fun with Kame maybe introduce him to Jin if Jin decides to rock up. Ueda knows Kame doesn’t like new people especially men, but there was something about Jin that makes Ueda think it might be different this time. He hopes it will be anyway. Even though Ueda totally feels guilty about sleeping with Jin, he really did like him. He thinks they would make good friends and it would be cool if all three of them could hang out sometimes, because Kame definitely needs to broaden his spectrum of friends Ueda thinks before he falls asleep.

“No way……I don’t believe you, you’re the one who caused this whole mess and even if I wanted to I couldn’t tell you where he is…like I said I haven’t seen him since back then…..he pushed me away too” the hurt in his voice real as he remembered how his sweet Kazuya had been taken from him.
Koki must have heard it to as his expression changes from anger to pleading in a split second.
“Please Tat-chan just tell me where he is” Koki had begged looking genuinely scared.
Ueda takes in Koki’s appearance for the first time. As expected Koki looks different since the last time they met two years ago. He has short spiky hair and he’s wearing a dark t-shirt and jeans. His clothes looked nice Ueda had noticed, he’s was even wearing an expensive watch. He must be doing well for himself Ueda had thought……….until he noticed the faint bruises under the watch that run up Koki’s left arm.
As Ueda took in the bruises he got the faint feeling that Koki has gotten himself into some sort of trouble again and that his life depends on finding out this information. Ueda feels no remorse for Koki as he shakes his head. What-ever happens to him when he returns without Kazuya’s information…..well he deserves everything he gets Ueda had thought.
“Don’t you dare call me Tat-chan. Leave now” Ueda had warned “or I will call the police, I’m sure they would love to know where you have been hiding for last few years” Koki seemed to think better of it as he opened his mouth to reply. His expression still pleading.
“Fine I will leave, but I know you know where he is……..if you see him could you tell him I came by…………..I just want a chance to explain………..please” Koki says tears threatening to spill down his cheeks. Ueda hadn’t believed his act for a second.
“Sure, but like I said its impossible…….I don’t see him anymore” Ueda says again as he walked over to the door, holding it open clearly expecting Koki to leave.
As soon as Koki was out of his apartment Ueda slammed the door shut and locked it. He remembers how the tears had started to tumble down his cheeks as he crumbled to the floor………that was scary, Ueda had thought………no wonder Kame can’t handle life sometimes if this is how he always feels.
As Ueda sat on the floor he become more and more worried as Kame didn’t show up at his apartment like they planned. He had begun imaging things.
What if Koki was waiting outside and got to Kazuya before he arrived at the apartment?
Ueda called Kame’s phone only to receive voice mail. Ueda had stayed up all night worrying about Kame. Eventually he had decided to call Kame’s house. It was the only thing he could think of. Even though he knew Kame’s father would get angry again because he called he just needed to know if Kame was safe at home. Sora, Kame’s brother had answered the phone on the 4th ring.
“I just wanted to know if Kame was home” Ueda had inquired trying to stay calm after Sora had pointedly ignored his question the first time.
“You know you shouldn’t call here, you are only causing more problems for him” Sora had replied still ignoring the question.
“I know I’m not supposed to call Sora, I don’t want to talk to him I just need to know whether he is safe at home or not”
“why did something happen” the boy asked. God Kame’s brother could be annoying sometimes.
“No he just didn’t rock up at my place like -“
“Look, Kame is…….fine” Sora cuts him off “he’s just in bed. He’s been sick” Ueda knew that Sora was lying but at least it meant that Kame was safe.
“Thanks Sora, could you tell him-“ Sora cuts him off again
“Dad’s coming, I’ve got to go…..don’t worry I won’t tell Dad that you called he is still angry about the last time you showed up, I don’t want to make anything worse and neither should you, so don’t call here anymore okay, it only gets Kame in trouble.” Ueda was left listening to the dial tone as Sora hung up.
After finding out the next day that Kame had feel down the stairs, Ueda had been slightly relived. He wasn’t happy that Kame had broken his arm but he was happy to know that he hadn’t run into Koki like Ueda had feared. The younger hadn’t mentioned anything about seeing Koki so Ueda couldn’t help but be relived.
Over the next few days Ueda had found himself getting more and more anxious. What did Koki really want when he rocked up at his place? Is he back to hurt Kazuya? Will he really be able to protect him if Koki wants something from Kame? This is the state that Jin found him in when they bumped into each other in the hallway earlier in the evening. Ueda had been so strung up on Kame, sleeping with Jin just kind of happened.
Ueda is pulled out of his thoughts as his phone rings. It’s Kame again. Even though it’s really late Ueda would never ignore Kame’s phone call. He answers almost immediately.
“Hey Tat-chan, about going out on Saturday night, I’m not so sure……I have a ton of homework to do….” Kame says trailing off.
“Kame did you really just call me at 12 o’clock in the night to say that you’re not coming out with me on Saturday” Ueda says feigning outrage. Ueda only gets silence from the other end.
“Shit Kame did you get in trouble with your Dad again?” Ueda asks knowing that it must be something major for Kame to call him. Maybe his father had found out that Ueda had called the other night.
Kame gives a non-committal ‘mmm’ as his only sign of hearing the question.
“Jesus, Kame tell me what happened” Ueda demands
“well, he um….he heard me talking to you on the phone earlier….you know how he is when he finds out that………..” Kame doesn’t have to finish his sentence for Ueda to know what he means. Kame’s father is a control freak. When he found out that Kame was gay he went ape shit on his arse. He may as well have beaten Kame for all the good his yelling and screaming had done. To put it bluntly Kame’s father is a total jerk. There was nothing going on between him and Kame, not that Ueda couldn’t hope but his father still seemed to hate Kame hanging around with anybody, particularly males.
“Yeh don’t worry. I get it” Ueda sighs. They both know its pointless fighting against Kame’s father when it only make’s Kame’s life more difficult.
“I’m sorry” Kame starts before Ueda cuts him off.
“Kame you don’t have to be sorry for anything. It’s not your fault that your father is an arsehole.” Ueda knows his words are harsh but it’s the truth.
“Ueda you know its not like that, he’s just trying to protect me” Kame defends his father.
“I know, but still……I’m here to protect you too you know.” Well at least he tries to protect him Ueda thinks as he remembers about Koki turning up at his door. He still hasn’t told Kame about that.
“I know” is all Kame says sounding resigned to the fact that he actually needs protecting. “I really did want to go out though, it has been a while since I’ve been out with you and even after last week I have been feeling really good lately…..I dunno I feel like something has changed” Ueda listens to Kame in awe. This is the first time he has ever expressed any desire to actually go out with Ueda. Usually Ueda has to drag from his bedroom with promises and bribery. Ueda thinks this is a good sign, a great sign! Maybe the real Kame is finally resurfacing from his deep dark ocean. Ueda makes his mind up right there and then to not tell Kame about Koki, there is no way he is going to destroy the little bit of happiness that Kame has got back in his life, however it happened.
“Maybe I could talk to Amaya” Ueda suggest knowing full well that his pretty face is good for something “maybe she can be persuaded to help us out” It wouldn’t be the first time that Amaya has helped Ueda sneak Kame out of the house.
“Ueda, you don’t have to do that…..I know what she asks for in return…..and you don’t have to do that because of me” Kame says. Kame actually has no idea what Amaya asks for in return, he only thinks he knows because Ueda feed him some lie saying she cons him into taking her on a date every time. It isn’t a total lie though, she just asks for a bit more than a date is all. Ueda feels the worst kind of guilt every time he sleeps with Kame’s sister but he does it anyway just so Kame can get out of the house.
“Kame it’s fine….I sent her a text just now.” Ueda states, clearly not taking no for an answer. After talking to Kame for another ten minutes Ueda decides he needs to get some sleep if he is expected to be at class tomorrow in the morning. His exquisite beauty does not come without beauty sleep he tells Kazuya seriously before he hangs up.
Amaya texts him back as soon as he gets off the phone.

Ueda wonders if Kame’s father has any idea what his beautiful prestigious daughter gets up to in her free time. Probably not Ueda thinks with a chuckle.
This will be good Ueda thinks before he falls asleep. He will be able to go out and have fun with Kame maybe introduce him to Jin if Jin decides to rock up. Ueda knows Kame doesn’t like new people especially men, but there was something about Jin that makes Ueda think it might be different this time. He hopes it will be anyway. Even though Ueda totally feels guilty about sleeping with Jin, he really did like him. He thinks they would make good friends and it would be cool if all three of them could hang out sometimes, because Kame definitely needs to broaden his spectrum of friends Ueda thinks before he falls asleep.
