ahhhhhh! *freaks out*!
no-one else will find this as cool as i do but
we have these ugly wooden slats on our kitchen walls that we're taking off because we're gonna renovate the kitchen
and underneath them we found a few pages of a newspaper from 1982 which mustve been when the kitchen was renovated (our house was built in 1926) and we thought that that was pretty darn cool that someone put them there to be found
BUT THEN
we found a paper from 1922!
and lots of pages from papers from various dates in 1909!! i think thats so fucking magical!
but now we are confused! because the house was only built in 1926 like i said so where did those papers come from? AND the 1922 paper is the herald (a melbourne paper) and the 1909 pages are from the age (also a melbourne paper dad said) so what the...?!
mysterious magical and interesting for a nerdhead like me!
we're gonna wrap them in protective paper and put them back when the kitchens done and also part of a 2004 newspaper and a note to be found next time the kitchen is taken apart!!
also the subject of this entry was what one of the ads in the 1922 newspaper said which i thought was so funny! they have ads for old cars and silent movies and "frocks for picnics and the seaside" hahaha its so fascinating and cool!
