Having never been to Bakersfield I decided to check out their web site. About a quarter of the way down they have a link "10 Ways to Protect Your Child From Strangers". Suddenly I'm filled with desire to take my family here on vacation.
This is also the only city website I've ever seen not to include a single picture of the town on their main page.
Not only that, but this should make all of our urban artists happy:
"The Anti-Graffiti Program has a preventative facet. This includes anti-graffiti assemblies for students in fourth, fifth, and sixth grade, graffiti paint-out activities, and an annual poster & essay contest. We encourage you to support and encourage your children to participate in these activities." Should you need to report graffiti you can call the Bakersfield Anti-Graffiti hotline at 32-ERASE. Happy times.
Having been to Bakersfield, I could go on and on about why there are no pictures of it on the website, but it will have to do to say that Bakersfield is proof positive that Satan is among us.
