color balancing hell!!

So for the last month and a half, I have been desperately trying to print up some of my wedding photos with no luck!! I color balance them on my computer using the latest version of adobe, making sure that my monitor has been calibrated. Then I send them online to be printed at a local store (being that I don't have one of those sweet photo printers). When I get them back half of my photos come out very strange colors, either too green or too yellow, just enough to notice if this is something you are fairly familiar with. I have heard that this is the digital photo hell that some people deal with when trying to get the correct color balance. I have even downloaded color profiles from Costco (the store I have been dealing with) to make sure that what I see on my screen is what I get out of my prints!! But still no luck!!!

I have done this identical process manually on a color enlarger in a color darkroom, which in it self is completely grueling, but at least you get the correct color balance after a couple tries. With this method it is not until I get to the store to pick up my wonderful wedding photos that I realized something is screwed up!!

Can any one give me any tips on where they get their digital prints printed and have been successful?

The worst part is, is that obviously everyone wants wedding photos!! I mean I want printed wedding photos myself!! and everyone knows that I am having difficulty with this process, but still I am getting harassed and pressured to produce a product. I want them to turn out nice, I don't like to present a half-assed product, especially of my own wedding!! :(
