The Stupidness of Otaku

May 02, 2007 11:38

95% of all Otaku are stupid, mindless fools that follow anyone that waves a pack of Pokey in front of them. Want a prime example, heres one. The Bleach Trading Card Game is set to come out May 23, 3 weeks from today. There was a retailer pre-release event this past weekend in Chicago where they gave out free starter decks of series 1. Starter decks retail at $11.95 each, they also come with 2 free packs, the ones handed out at the event did not include these, so the decks were worth roughly $4.95. There is 1 up on eBay right now with 2 days left to bid. It's current price is $31.00 + $4.00 s/h. So basicly this person is paying $30.05 more than what the cards are worth just to have them 2 weeks before everyone else. They are truly a dumbass. With 2 days left to bid I expect the final price to be a lot higher than this. Of course, these otaku are my bread and butter. Back why the Inuyasha Trading Card Game was in it's prime, I was paying roughly $120 each for the rarest card and then selling it back at $450, and I expect to do the same with this game. I learned a long time ago theres a lot of profit to be made in the completely mindless. The free Ichigo promo card that came out in the May issue of Shonen Jump is worth around $5.00, and yet I managed to sell 7 of them for $20+ each. Otaku, stupid, yet profitable.
