When the creator of a step sequence in figure skating says one pair was flawless and another team's timing was off, I listen to him way more than biased fans who just see 'pretty flash routine' and declare a winner. Countries with athletes in the sport should not have judges from those same countries or else things will never be judges fairly

I feel like the over-inflated scores (which ALWAYS happens at Olys) has been even worse this year.

Definitely. I wonder if the Russian girl's scores would have been the same if the men's hockey medal was still an option for them.

I know. Ashley Wagner went off after the Free Skate tonight. She hit the nail on the head.

And the crowd was just awful tonight. I expected more out of a Russian crowd.

It really won't surprise me if it comes out that the results were fixed again. So many things have gone wrong for the Russians.

I'm still so pissed that we got stuck with this stupid ass scoring system all those years ago instead of the overhaul we needed.

Definitely. Now it's so confusing to explain to a casual viewer.

That's one of the big reasons I hate it. Its tough as a skating fanatic to have to try and explain to people why someone who fell/stumbled beat someone who skated clean. If everyone skates clean then yeah, you might not agree, but that's easier than having to answer the "but they fell" questions.

Oh yeah. Ice Dance is getting particularly bad to explain since the judges have changed from wanting to see clean, deep lines and close skating to rewarding couples who do their moves as fast as they can.

See, Ice Dance is the one for me that is the easiest to explain. Ice Dance is so... I just tell people, if you haven't been an ice dance fan for years you won't understand. It's easier then trying to get in to some BS about the scoring. Ice dance scoring has been rough for decades.
