Had this been only aabout a year ago, Ophelia probably would have screamed, and tried to get people out of the way of the fish people.
Funny how time can change people.
When one of the scaley attackers came near her with arms out, she punched him in the face; it probably didn't hurt a lot, but it was enough to get him away from her.
Surrounded by her element, she raised her arms, causing a pillar-like wave to rise from the side of the ship, knocking three of the attackers over the railing, and back into the water. When she noticed Trident, her eyes narrowed, and formed several small ice spikes, aiming at him from behind.
"Crap, not good!" she muttered. She grabbed a wet life preserver (you know, those floaty ring things), and froze the water around it. She dropped it to the ground and jumped on, sliding into the group of the fish men, sending columns of waterto knock them back, hoping to knock one or two of them into the fishguy leader. However, none of them managed to knock into him, so she jumped off the sliding life preserver, picked it up, and chucked it at the leader's head like a frisbee, hoping for a direct hit.
The fishmen scattered and successfully evaded; Trident stepped forward and swung his weapon, sending out an arching blast that destroyed Ophelia's projectile.
She stared. Jaw agape, she glanced at the fishmen (and a small amount of fishladies) before looking back at Trident. They.. they used to be people..?! she thought. She wondered how on earth he managed to make them listen to him, but for now, that wasn't important.
"I don't think so," she said lowly, her eye narrowing. Ophelia raised her arms again, a much larger wave coming towards the cruise ship, and this time, much larger ice spikes raining down in Trident's direction. The wave seemed to pause at the side of the ship, giving her much of her element to work with.
Oh geez, moral dillema. Now that she had the knowledge they used to be people, she didn't really want to hurt them. What if they could be changed back?
Then again, she was about to get her ass handed to her, and she wasn't exactly up for that. The deck was very well more than covered with water now. She kneeled down, her hands hovering above the floor, and the water turned into a sheet of ice. The fish people that didn't fall over while approaching her, she easily managed to shove them into each other to knock them down, and like dominos, more would fall. The wave still loomed in the air, and Ophelia summoned more water to her, hurling more spikes at Trident. Maybe if she could take him out, the rest would... well.. okay, she wasn't really sure what would happen.
Soon after dodging more of Ophelia's spikes, Trident crashed through a nearby wall and hid himself from Ophelia's view behind it.
He crashed through several interior walls, until he came up to where she was outside, and then smashed out of it, wasting no time in firing at her side.
45 minutes before the attack, that reading disappeared.
Thus, no warning would come to the cruise ship, as by that time, there would be no way of telling where the object had gone.
The ship suddenly disengaged the device by which it had concealed itself, and broke the surface.
In a matter of moments, a large hatch opened on it like a gaping maw, revealing a host of what could only be described as fishmen.
Into the water they surged, like living torpedos, and once they reached the boat, they crawled up the side and began to attack the passengers.
Their leader, a more prominent looking figure holding a trident, followed after them.
"These fools shall serve me nicely," the one called Trident said. "They shall be made in the image of my greatness... and serve as my army!"

He spun around, firing a blast from his trident, blasting the spikes before they could hit her.
"Seems this has gotten interesting, my children!" he said, pointing at her. "Attack the meta-human!"
Six of the fishmen stopped their rampage and charged Ophelia.

Then he fired directly at her.

She backed up until she was against the railing of the ship. "Who do you think you are, attacking these innocent people?!" Ophelia yelled.

"I am Trident - the epitome of perfection. I am here to make these people my servants, as I have with my minions."
He grinned. "Their humanity will be taken and remade in my image, just as theirs' was."

He roared, and ducked to the side, only to be thrown by the impact of the spikes.
He growled, and pointed at Ophelia with his weapon. "ATTACK!" he cried, firing, and then scrambling for cover.
The fishmen all hissed, and began to attack Ophelia en masse.
