I saw another ad for a mustang, saying it was a '66 coupe with a 302 engine and listed a bunch of modifications to the engine and a hood scoop. It looked nice in the picture. I put the phone number into Switchboard.com's reverse lookup, and it gave me an address close by, so I went to go and look at the car from a distance, to see if it was something I'd feel like calling about.
Lie #1: The address that's given from Switchboard.com doesn't exist. It's labled as Buzzz Motors at 1301 Quality Dr. The spot on the map that this is supposed to be at is a golf course, and isn't Quality Dr.
So, I end up calling the guy and he gives me an address to go to. I drive there, and he shows me the car, and one of the first things I noticed was the spiderweb hanging between the bumper and tailpipe.
Lie #2: The picture shows it as a black coupe. It's a red convertable.
Lie #3: There is no hood scoop.
Lie #4: It's not a 302 engine, it's a 289. And for the modifications to it, he says that they're in the garage.
Lie #5: He says it runs great. So, I ask him for a test drive. He says there's no battery in it.
I didn't ask how much he wanted for it. But it better not be the $6995 that the ad says.
I feel better about the blue one that I'd have to do all that work to to get it decent. (headlamps, window, vibration). And no, I didn't buy that blue one yet. I'm only thinking about it.
