Still working my way though the grief and anger. I want to be hopeful, but I really fear for those of my fellow Americans who do not possess the blue eyes, blond hair, and lily white skin that I inherited from my immigrant forebears. Or who do, but are LGBTQ.
And for all who are saying that Trump isn't really that bad, look at who he surrounds himself with. A who's who of haters and bigots. And then there is this quote from the New York Times in 1922:
"But several reliable, well-informed sources confirmed the idea that
Hitler's anti-Semitism was not genuine or as violent as it sounded, and
that he was merely using anti-Semitic propaganda as a bait to catch
messes of followers and keep them aroused, enthusiastic and in line for a
time when his organization is perfected and sufficiently powerful to be
employed efficiently for political purposes."
