Jesse

As some of you may remember, I had to put my dearest Martha down last March. (Points to icon.) Well, what I apparently didn't post was that two months later, amid a sea of conflicting emotions, I brought home Jesse. The idea of having any dog but Martha was too much to think about, but a house with no dog was intolerable, no matter how hard my ( Read more... )

Aw! He looks like just the antidote to a Martha-less house. I'm glad you're getting along so well! M.

We have our times, but we're adapting really well. And yeah, I just couldn't stand not having a dog. It surprised me.

He looks like a sweet boy, and I'm glad the two of you found each other. It sounds as if you both needed the other, so the timing was just right.

I kept thinking that I wasn't ready for another dog, but the fact that I kept driving by area shelters, even if I couldn't go in, told me I needed another dog. He's been very good to me.

Yay for doggie pics! And he is a handsome boy. I love the pic on your pillows. :D

Thanks for posting! I'm sooo happy you found each other.

Sometimes I'm not sure if he's saving my sanity, or driving it away, but I love him.

He really likes those pillows. He'd usually paw the covers back, so he could sleep right on them. I got kinda tired of doggy smelling pillows, so I take them off the bed during the day now. It makes him sad.

The solution, of course, is to get yourself a new set and give him those. ;)

Like that would work! He'd just make a bigger, more comfy nest with all of them. Not to mention that I can't afford to replace them.

I'm so glad to hear you opened your home to another dog! And also that you had a kitty to keep you company in the meantime. Mr. Jess looks really sweet!

He's very sweet natured and affectionate. I think Charlie Cat missed Martha, too. He likes dogs, and he and Jess get along well now after a rather... boisterous... start.

He looks a nice young man! You've got space enough to let him run a bit, haven't you ... once you've taught him what 'come' means!

He's a very nice young man, but unfortunately, he won't be able to run off the line. I do have a 40' lead that I use in the field, but he can't be trusted, and it just isn't safe to let him go. He chewed through the chain link gate of his pen once. I left for a four hour shift at work, leaving him in the pen, and when I got home and opened the barn door to come in, there he was inside! Drove me nuts for days until someone at work told me that her sister-in-law, with whom I used to work at a different job and who lives about a mile from me, snagged him sniffing around her yard, saw the tag on his collar with my name on it, and knowing where I lived, brought him home. What a relief ( ... )
