Perhaps you should look into talking with him? My mother can be quite stubborn herself sometimes, but she's also open to reasoning.
I would encourage speaking with him, then, once your trainer fetches him from the computer. If you could possibly reason with him, that would likely bring you the best outcome.
Of course, if he refuses to reason, boycotting your training is also an option. You would, however, need the cooperation of the entire team.
