I managed to spend the entire night not sleeping, but being sick. Yesterday morning, I started feeling queasy around 10am, but didn't think much of it since nausea is not uncommon for me. So, I proceeded with my day as usual, and felt generally OK, except that I realized that I was getting the chills. Again, I didn't think much of it because it wasn't really bothering me. The rest of the day was pretty uneventful and I went to meet my walking group at the mall in the evening. My walking buddy, Susan, met me at around 6:30pm, and we went for our usual walk around the mall. At 7:30pm, we stopped at the Starbucks so I could get some mint tea, as my nausea was getting worse. Another walking buddy met up with us, and we proceeded to walk some more until 8:30pm. Drove home, felt OK, still queasy, but not too bad, talked to
airplane_stars on the phone for the first of our weekly phone date, and got home. As the night progressed, my nausea got worse and I started to develop a bad headache. Still, I didn't think too much of these things, despite Rob telling me that I should get this checked out since I've been complaining of nausea and headaches for quite some months now. At 11:30pm I headed to bed, feeling quite tired and worn out. I was actually happy about this since it's rare for me to be able to sleep without some sort of sleeping aid, so I was looking forward to hopefully getting some natural sleep. At 2:30am: the first bout of sickness, not that I had been sleeping at all during this time since my stomach was in pain. So, this led me to my trip to the bathroom, and this continued on for the rest of the night until 6:30am, when I think I had no fluids left in my body. I was hoping that my exhaustion from being sick all night would let me fall asleep, but no luck since my stomach pains were getting worse. Finally, at around 8am, I went to my living room and decided to plop myself in front of the TV. By this time, I was weak from being sick all night, I had a fever, I had the chills, and my body was aching all over and felt like I had gotten hit by a MACK truck. Rob offered to take me to the doctor, but I just nursed myself at home, trying to keep down fluids, and pumping myself full of Tylenol. I have managed to keep everything down, everything being water, ginger ale, a little bit of soup, and an apple, but the nausea and stomach ache is still there. At least the Tylenol has kicked in and no more fever or chills, and my body now only feels like it's been hit by mid size sedan. I'm hoping that I can get some sleep tonight!
