Will someone write my thesis?

My wonderful plans to write my thesis while J was gone fell through thanks to a mysterious illness that made it hurt for me to hold my head up and had me sleeping 18 hours/day for a week.  My body has great timing, really.   Seeing how I just got out of grad school where I was treated by the "doctors" (they say although you'd never know from talking to them) at university health, I do not have a primary care physician.  I called my 'lady doctor' and her receptionist recommended someone.  Dr. Prada.  I go there and explain that I have muscle pain (esp in my neck), mild fever, sore throat, and am exhausted.  All he hears is "sore neck" and proceeds to prescribe a Rx-NSAID and a muscle relaxant.  A bit after taking the former, I started feeling like someone was choking me.  My heart was beating hard and fast.  Seeing how I don't really like the idea of dying alone in my apartment, I get in my car to drive to the hospital (thankfully only 1 mile away).  They take my pulse (130!) and decide that's odd enough to send me straight to triage.  After asking me  what I'm allergic to at least 5 times, they let a student practice sticking a needle in my arm and give me some unidentified pills to put under my tongue and soon I'm feeling very relaxed.  Several hours later I'm awoken by a nurse who yanks the IV out with no warning, tells me to sign something, get dressed, and leave.  They seem completely unconcerned that the drug reaction is only a portion of my problems.   I cried.

The next day I call Dr. "brand name of a purse I hope J is buying me in Italy" and explain the problem.  His response: "that's weird".  Gee, thanks.  Since he apparently had no interest in treating me, I finally went to an urgent care center.  I spent two hours behind a curtain while they extracted and tested about a liter of my blood, but still no luck.  The doctor there was much nicer and told me that I 'probably' have mono even though the test was negative.

I'm feeling a lot better now but my neck and arms still feel like I've been in a fight (and lost) if I do too much and I'm still really tired.  Another crappy part of this episode was that I missed a week of work and have to use my VACATION time (that I was saving up for the honeymoon) to pay for it since they are very stingy with sick leave.  Plus, NONE of my thesis got written so it looks like there's no possible way for me to have it in by the deadline for getting my degree in December.  The next deadline is in January.  I might have to ground myself until it's done.

We're heading home to NC for the weekend.  As usual, it will be a whirlwind of familial obligations.  I'm also having a hair and makeup trial for the wedding.  I hope it's not bad luck for the groom to see the bride's hair style before the wedding...
