A "victory" for the conservation of JAWS!!

The Alligator Snapping Turtle, as well as every species of Map Turtle, has finally been listed under CITES Appendix III for better laws concerning harvesting and the like. Ally Snappers are finally officially listed as an endangered species and now is under the protection of CITES. They have much stricter harvesting limits and every shipment over seas will now be carefully monitored, so people in Asia can't have their turtles and eat them too (aka the Asian Turtle Crisis, see? Asians are tricky... tricky but hott). This may or may not be a 'victory' to some people, since this species IS now considered endangered, but thats not what I'm focusing on. I'm focusing on the protection the species which it will now get in the wild, as well as in captivity. If you want to read more about this issue, and I mean ALOT more about this issue, go to this site: http://www.fws.gov/policy/library/05-24099.html . Chances are, only one person will actually read the CITES summary, and you know who you are "Blondy McBlonderson".

This is a pic of a really, really old snapper.
