Update - Merry Christmas!
I am back in California - presumably for good -- or at least until June. Haha.
I am almost 26 and I am still scrambling to scrape by financially. I have landed a part-time naturalist job...I NEED another job - somewhere in the Bay Area - to earn enough to pay for life.
I have a Master of Science degree in Natural Resources, but aside for identifying a few kinds of flora and fauna (some in Idaho and some in California) and telling you that the way that the West was/is managed is completely ridiculously and unsustainably (water, land divisions, etc) I wouldn't really feel confident as a MASTER in Natural Resources. Maybe if I could say I was a Master of Science in Environmental Education, that would be a bit more accurate.
Environmental Education seems to be the only kind of job I can get. And those jobs do not pay well!!! The job I got is part time (20-25 hrs a week) and it's only $10 an hour. That's why I need something else. Even a waitress/cafe job would be good -- but even those are snatched up by those with experience in those types of jobs already. I think I would like a waitress job, actually.. Weeks with kids on the beach and in the redwoods in the Marin Headlands and weekends waitressing in San Francisco. Sounds good!!
Well, Christmas is almost over. It was VERY good. I had a lot of family time and good presents all around. :-)
