Hey guys!

I just watched a documentary on the plight of the people of Darfur, Sudan. It is heartbreaking. And completely unacceptable. One of the things that it made me realize was just how much power all of us have. Just by living in the United States, our voices are heard. As college students (or grads), we are a force to reckoned with. And Jesus said, "From those to whom much has been given, much will be expected." Well, we've been given more than opportunities and power than any other generation of young people. Ever. And to borrow words from Thomas Jefferson, "I tremble when I think that God is just."

We have to do something. And since just general calls to action like "we have to do something" tend to be ineffective, I have an idea for something that you can do to help and it will even be fun:

Come to a party. Saturday March 18th, starting at 7:00. It's probably going to be at my house, but I'll post again when I know for sure. There will be good food (I can be an excellent cook sometimes and I'll make sure that this is one of them). There we can all brainstorm and write letters together. I'll even provide the stamps and envelopes.

Invite all of your friends.

Check out this website for more information and email me if you have any questions.
