The wealthiest nations in the world & World Bank have decided to cancel the debts of the 18 pooerest nations in the world! WooHoo!!!!!!!

Your kingdom come
Your will be done
On Earth as it is in Heaven.

As we forgive our debtors
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil

I went to Chapter Camp with InterVarsity about a month ago and we learned about God's Kindgom, which came with Jesus, and is already here, and yet somehow is not yet and still coming. Sort of like a pregnacy. Or like how the Allies won the war when they stormed the beaches of Normandy, but it took a while for the war really to be over.
Well, the Kindgom of God is the realm of God's effective rule. It is not defined by any political or geographical nation or any language or ethnic group. It exists where people act in obedience to the King (Jesus) and his righteousness and justice are lived out.
Whether the politicians who made this decision intend it or not, this cancelling of debt seems to me to be an act of God's kindgom coming. This act has the potential to save and improve the lives of people in Africa and Latin America, living in some of the poorest countries in the world. I think that God, who so deeply loves the poor and feels all of their pain, is very pleased by this. I pray that he doesn't stop here, but continues to bring justice to the destitute and oppressed.
