There´s so much happening that I have no idea where to begin.
First of all, I want to thank everybody that commented in my last post. It´s incredible how you can remain blind to so many things till somebody point them to you, and you have been a great wake up call for me.
Before your comments, I had not tought how many miracles I get to see every day. It´s hard to think of something I do so many times as extraordinary, specially taking on account that, more often than not, it comes with high levels of frustration, anxiety and exhaustion. Yet, I´m privileged to be part of the beggining of a new life, and now I know to be more atentive to not let myself forget it.
As I said, many things have happened that I would want to share with you, guys. Everytime I come home from being on-call I think "Now I´m gonna tell my friends at LJ about this..." and then my eyes start dropping "....after I have a little sleep." But most often than not, I find my day flying away without doing half the things I wanted to do :(
Just so you have an idea, here are some of the things that I did on September:
- Delivering a Stillborn (without knowing it was a stillborn, mind you. What a scare!)
- Delivering a baby with severe congenital malformations
- Attending births standing on the stretcher
- Closing 3° degree episiotomys
- Pack gauze package so we could have sterile material
- Lose a friend to stomach cancer
In resume, September was a month with a lot of deliveries (thank you, december holidays and New years eve!) and the experience almost drove me crazy. There have been both moments of great satisfaction, and others in which I wonder "What the hell am I doing here?" So this is me, trying to draw strenght from people stronger than me by keeping as much in touch with their lives as I can and sharing what it´s going on with mine.
And as I can´t post a thing without including some kind of cloti of maniip somewhere, even if it´s completely unrelated....
Those dress-up games are addictive, I tell you. This one was done at DA with =
Arlequinne 's Final fantasy dress up game. Hopefull, I will post some 'real' manip work soon!
'Till then, massive hugs and best wishes for you all!
