This past weekend my mom, sister and I went to Sydney. I flew there on a regional airline (aka small plane). We stayed at the Sydney Hilton. It is a new hotel. I felt like I was walking into a futuristic city. Our rooms had flat screen TVs, electronic blinds, and lights that I could not figure out how to turn out. Impressive! During the day we went on a couple different tours. The first tour was around the city. It started out with a harbour cruise on a sailing catamaran. On the boat, we were served a buffet of fresh seafood. The rest of the tour involved a bus ride around the various parts of the city. On day two, went to an area known as the Blue Mountains. The area was beautiful as the towns in the mountains were small and quaint with plenty of places for backpackers to stay. At one point, we took the world's steepest railway down to the rainforest floor. Once there, we hiked around the board walk a bit only to board a gondola type vehicle back to the top. The tour ended with a visit to yet another wildlife sanctuary. This one had more active koalas. At night, we would usually dine and prepare for the following day. My favourite restaurant would have to be the bar and grill on the wharf where I got a fresh tuna steak.
