Our spirit has never been quenched

Not a lot happened, just a long day. Stayed back and hour and a half for extra work, bah. Lately work has just been a boring list of even more boring lists to check off against the database. Days of it. Got to be more to life than that.

Quote is from North from the album 'NahooToo' by Paul Mounsey. I have mixed feelings about this tune. I love the poignant basic melody (used in adverts for Scotland on tv recently) which is beautifully played. I'm not keen on certain elements in it though. One being the muffled phrase repeated at odd intervals, and odder groaning sounds (from bass I think) spoiling the end of phrases.

Not really a fan of songs/tunes where the composer thinks it a cool thing to add obscure spoken phrases ('samples' I should say) that only make sense to him/her. Leave them out please, and let the music speak for itself. We don't need hitting over the head to get the point.

The first track on the album...don't even go there. Each word a high-pitched staccato shout on the same note. Ow! On the other hand, some of the rest of the album is really good.
