[He considered it. Thought about it again. Went to turn it down. Reconsidered. Actually it might not be such a bad idea.]

[Clark wouldn't admit that Spike was too quiet for him to find unless he spoke, having no heartbeat and all.]

[He types it out for him. It's Peter's address, because what is Spike but a big ol' mooch?]

There's cold beer and the tellies still warm.

Pete's out, but here it is. My humble flat. Half a one, anyway.

[He still didn't have a bed, but he'd figure that out later. TV was his priority and he had gotten one. It has old rabbit ears on top and a turn dial.]

Want a beer? [He's asking, already opening up the fridge. Blood and beer is about the only thing in it. Maybe some mustard.]

[And in he comes, glancing around. It's actually--more cozy than his. He has a bed, a coffee mug and a jar of coffee beans. Literally.]

[He couldn't get drunk, but he could pretend it helped. Spike's company would probably be more distracting.]

[Spike is one classy bitch. He pops the top off two beers and carts them to Clark, handing him one, taking a drink from the other.]

You like it? Fresh from the dumpster in Sector 4.

[He takes them, then sort of flops on the floor, pulling one knee up to his chest.]

It makes the place look homely, believe it or not.

[These are the questions, but he's already switching on the TV and sitting near Clark to lean against the couch. The picture's going in and out, but it's a surprisingly good signal for a twenty year old set that was probably thrown out a window.]

[It's said idly, and Clark takes another little sip, then sighs, props his chin against his knee. More like a teenager than an superpowered alien.]

Well. Ta then. Still have to fish myself a mattress, but that's for another day. And I should get some proper curtains since that tinfoil's a little tacky.

[a beat] I think I'm gonna quit my job.

[He tilts his head at Spike, uncertain, and just leaves him space to add more of an explanation to that statement.]

[He shrugs, taking a swig before trying to add on.]

Found out 24's AGI's and besides that, don't know if this employment thing is for me. Vampires don't exactly keep jobs back home. Never done it before.

[Folds one arm around his knee and glances up.]

Well most of the places here are affiliated, and if they're not they get frightened into it sooner or later. If you don't work there, it just means someone else will.

And maybe in a way you're taking some of AGi's money from them?

Yeah, but it's pennies. Never needed a job before, don't see why this place should be any different. ...Well. Wolfram & Hart was joblike. Sort of.

Because you have to pay rent here? Or does Peter cover that?
