TMBG Haiku Challenge - phone calls from the dead

Jul 30, 2007 02:24

these are mine, so far

since i buried you
i will accept your death
but not "the charges"

it's hard to hear you
through all that static and noise
did you say "Jerry"?

I thought they would stop
all your petulant queries
but still you call me

that phone freaks me out
it sure has good signal strength
six feet under ground

arsenic in your tea
yes, now I admit was wrong
please hang up the phone

Grandma still calls me
on my little plastic phone
what a creepy toy

wait, you woke me up
from a rather gorgeous dream
only to say "Boo!"?

though it is beneath
my bed and a loose floor board
I hear that phone ring!!

no, it's not that John,
I can't keep seeing you
well, because you're dead

hello, nine one one,
please state your emergency
..I think I've been kill'd

then I spun around
with the cut phone lines in hand
how is it ringing!?!

well on the bright side
radiation from cell phones
wont give YOU cancer

hello? I'm sorry?
I can't understand, you said
what about my braaaaaiiiiinnns?

from beyond the grave
just, my love, to say goodbye
least you could pick up

and lemme tell ya
it aint easy being dead
lemme tell ya! ..hello?
