With the Multifandom Drabble fest just finished, and Remix Revival on the horizon, I got thinking about the old
remixthedrabble, and realized that I'd never reposted the ficlets (mostly drabbles, a few double-drabbles, and two poems) I'd written for it to AO3. I went through the comm yesterday and this morning and rectified this situation, and rereading, I have to say, I'm proud of a few of these!
Eleven very short remixes in eight fandoms (four in due South; also one each in Wilby Wonderful, Slings & Arrows, Hard Core Logo, SGA, Firefly, Hornblower, and Harry Potter). Along with other appropriate tags they are all tagged "Community: remixthedrabble" (which idea I got from
akamine_chan, and it's how the link above is constructed). If the original had been reposted to AO3 I linked to that version; otherwise, I linked to the version linked from the
remixthedrabble posting.
IMO the due South ones are the best, and I particularly love
Space and Time (The Two Axes Remix) (though the visual presentation took me a stupid long time to get right). But I also like my poems - and looking at my reveals post I had to grin when I saw the author's note for one (which I copied to the AO3 end notes): In summary, this was a pain in the ass to write, and also incredibly fun to write. It made me want to run a "remixthesonnet" fest in which participants must remix their stories into sonnets. Okay, maybe not. :-)
(Apologies to any AO3 subscribers I have who suddenly got flooded; I think AO3 only sends one email per day, but this took me two days to get done, so, oops? Shouldn't be any more notifications for a while...)
