I'm feverishly working on my Yuletide signup and Dear Yuletide Writer letter, having decided after all to sign up and not just write treats. Though my potential treat list, after looking through the DYW post (and of course the letters you-on-my-flist have posted so far) is up to 21 possibilities! Yikes!
I have, sadly, decided not to do Festivids. I might make a treat, but - I'm so out of practice with vidding, and it takes me SO LONG to vid, and I have a lot going on this winter. But you can bet I'm going to enjoy the heck out of all the gift vids posted.
(I'm out of practice with writing, too. But it comes more naturally to me. And the technical issues are far fewer.)
Speaking of Yuletide and possible treats (and possible offers!) I have been entirely charmed by many of the Other Media sources promoted in this post! The various paintings, in particular, are amazing. Some of them definitely do inspire me to possible stories, but others I am just enjoying because they are beautiful or interesting or thought-provoking. I mean, look at these representations of the signs of the zodiac. And these fantastical portraits. And these otherworldly photographs.
And speaking of amazing paintings, I shall leave you with this awesome link: Adding Monsters to Thrift Store Paintings. Two artists bought a selection of mostly landscapes from thrift stores; then, matching as best they could the paint type and the style, added...monsters!
