Oh! See, this was SO worth the wait! *twirls you*

*rewatches*

I love how it opens with him all despondent in bed and takes you through his hapless, bumbling life until he's risen to the top at the end. And I kind of love that the way you have it, we go from standing O to the cast clapping him to him clapping himself. It's kind of, oh, Richard, don't look down.

And you do some AMAZING things matching the lyrics to the shots given the season arc you were working with. Richard out on stage, confidently speaking for 'you'll never shine if you don't glow' and his reaction to the Minister to 'it's a cool place and they say it gets colder'. And OF COURSE, linking Sanjay to the media man. Anna's FACE for the 'ice you skate is getting pretty thin'. PERFECT.

The timing of the camera flash is wonderful and really sets up the end which has my favourite jazz hands ever.

And watching Richard fall more and more in love with theatre throughout - especially knowing what that's going to mean for Geoffrey - you show it brilliantly.

In conclusion: YAY YOU!

Okay, you get the AWESOME VID WATCHER AWARD. Because - you get it! Yay!

I love how it opens with him all despondent in bed and takes you through his hapless, bumbling life until he's risen to the top at the end. And I kind of love that the way you have it, we go from standing O to the cast clapping him to him clapping himself. It's kind of, oh, Richard, don't look down.

EXACTLY EXACTLY. I was worried about the subtlety of the implication of him clapping himself, but YAY YOU GET IT! YOU GET IT! I am just so, so delighted that you mentioned this, because as you describe the arc is exactly how I intended it, his rise on his own hot air, as it were. :-)

And the bits you pick out are some of my favorites. As I said to Zulu, the lyrics go so well in a kind of obliquely literal way with each season, with Sanjay and so on. That one shot where he folds down the newspaper and you see Anna's priceless expression - that is my favorite clip in the entire SHOW, probably.

Thank you so much for this wonderful comment. It makes me feel all warm and glowy.
