my fandoms have

I was looking at some jaw-droppingly delicious Sharpe fanart the other day, and an epiphany hit me: I suddenly realized what my fandoms have in common - or rather, what it is that the characters I swoon for seem to (mostly) share.

My first fandom - the one that caused me to realize there was such a thing as fandom - was Harry Potter. More specifically, the Snape side of HP:

Leaving aside SGA, which suffers from a sad lack of buttoned-down men, my next fandom was due South, and oh, I love a man in uniform:

The problem is, Fraser has big ones, but not enough of them. (Buttons! I'm talking about buttons!) So it's no surprise that I have strayed into Age of Sail fandoms such as Hornblower and Sharpe:

With occasional forays into Old West fandoms such as 3:10 to Yuma, because how could I resist Charlie Prince?

So there you have it. Good-looking men + spiffy jackets with lots of buttons = swoony Isis.

In conclusion, Darren Nichols:

fandom, hornblower, photos, random silliness, sharpe, due south, cowboys
