I can has new laptop!
I ordered my Lenovo Thinkpad T61 on May 1 and was bummed to see an estimated ship date of May 20. Then yesterday morning I got email from Lenovo saying that my order had shipped, with a link to UPS tracking information. I clicked, and it informed me that my laptop had left Hong Kong, at 9:21 pm. I wondered how long a slow boat from China takes to get here.
This morning I checked the tracking site again - and my package was already here in town and out for delivery! The UPS guy brought it to my door at 10 am.

I am almost done un-installing the (thankfully not excessive) crap that came pre-installed. Next I shall install all the incredibly useful stuff that I need. Then I need to copy all my files over from my current computer. Whee! So much for doing actual work today!
Oh, and in other news: opening night went okay, a few dropped lines, but the audience was enthusiastic. More people than we expected, hooray. Thanks to everyone who wished me well. And in owie back news, after doctor's visit yesterday and physical therapist today, I'm armed with new exercises (and apparently all my old ones were wrong) and hopeful that this can be handled.
Okay, back to fondling my NEW LAPTOP YAY.
