• It is raining! This is normally a good thing around here (here = desert) but it wasn't so much fun on this weekend's backpacking trip. Yay waterproof breathable fabrics.
• cybel has converted the mp3 of my reading of Worst-case Scenario (along with wychwood's lovely cover art) into m4b podbook format! You can download any of these formats (mp3, m4b, html) from my audiofic page. She has also written up a bit about the podbook format. (Incidentally, the reason she did this story is that it has cover art - I guess the cover art is an integral part of a podbook? Anyway, consider this gentle encouragement to any artist who enjoys my audiofic that ooh, I sure would love more cover art :-)
• Speaking of audiofic, all of my podfic is now also available at the jinjurly.com audiofic archive. Big thanks to general_jinjur for mirroring. (So many people just point to her site as one-stop shopping for podfic, and I didn't want to be left out!) Also, now that she's restructured her page, I have put my nebulous plans to create an audiofic archive on hold, since she's pretty much done what I was going to do! Yay!
• And speaking of websites, which we were, sort of, I have finally built the outlines of my new fanfiction recs site. I'm slowly adding the recs I can find in my lj and that I have bookmarked or in my memory for whatever reason, but it's still rather discouraging to find an lj post saying, "oh, and I added 38 recs to my site..." because there is no way I will be able to remember everything. Let this be a lesson to us all: backup, backup, backup.
• In a fit of fest-enthusiasm, I joined ds_team_angst for ds_flashfiction's upcoming "dS Match." It occurred to me later (after a comment by aerye), though, that maybe I'm not exactly known as an angst writer. (Okay, I'm not exactly known as a due South writer, but ignore that for a moment.) So I went through my dS stories and classified them as best I could as angst or romance, and came up with...an exact balance. (Eight each angst and romance, and five I couldn't call either.) I don't know if this means I'm well-rounded, or just wishy-washy.
• B finally agreed to watch a little of Heroes S1 with me. After the pilot, he said, "okay, another one!" Then after ep 2, "More!" So we watched 1-3 last night, and I think he likes it! It's fun re-watching it; I'm noticing so much more now that I know where things are going - for example, the ubiquity of the symbol-thingy (you know what I mean) in various random places.
• OMG so much to do, both fannishly and non. Slings & Arrows vid about 1/5 done. Still working on Rae revisions. Two stories to beta. Adding recs to the new site. Then there's actual work, which ebbs and flows but seems to pile up just when I don't have the time. And I'm going to be gone all next week backpacking in Utah, which means I need to make granola bars and do food shopping and pack. (So what am I doing? La la la livejournal.)
• Finally: you can never have enough videos of kittens in boxes. Well, I can't, anyway.
