i'll third you...but then my taste seems too often run non-fannishly...
and isis, i can't believe you didn't like the vid...you really don't have the gene *bg* i promise to stop reccing vids (unless they are very, very funny!)
What is strange for me is that I sort of crave CKR-RPF, but I don't really like him paired with Hugh, because I don't find him attractive, or with Paul, because of the wife and kids thing.
Heh. I have that same problem! And it kind of sucks, because CKR and Hugh Dillon really ARE all that slashy in real life, and I don't have any interest. (I secretly want to see more Callum/Don McKellar, but I'm weird like that.) Have you seen lalejandra's Buffaloverse?
No, I won't kill you. I may be a bit baffled by you, though. *g*
My relationship with HCL and with Hugh Dillon has evolved a lot over time.
The first time I saw the movie, I didn't like it all that much. It had an extremely powerful impact on me (I hadn't been spoiled for it at all), but my initial reaction was something like, "I'm glad I won't have to see that again." And I didn't find Hugh-as-Joe particularly attractive, either (though I did like his voice a lot, both speaking and singing).
Since then I've seen it three more times and liked it more each time -- and now I'm watching it intensively in order to do the transcript -- and now it's way up there on my list of favorite movies.
It's grown on me in a huge way, and so has Hugh.
Part of it is learning about the real life relationship/friendship between Hugh and CKR, which is way over the top slashy and tantalizing and compelling (to me, anyway). Reading the Roadshow book will give you some glimpses of that

It was a wonderful surprise to find out that the Headstones were actually very good! And if anything, I like the HDRC even more.
To a certain extent, I think Joe Dick is the guy that Hugh Dillon really doesn't want to be, but could easily become if he let himself. Thus the drugs, and later the rehab....
I've already enthused enough about Hugh's music elsewhere, so I'll spare Isis more of that in this thread *g*... but yes. I am so with you there. :-)
And that's an interesting observation about Joe vs Hugh, and I'm glad you said that. While there is a lot of Hugh in Joe, they are by NO means the same person, and the more I learn about Hugh, the more I see it. I like Hugh a lot more than I like Joe.
Incidentally, I did refresh the download link in my Headstones/HDRC review, so Isis (and anyone else who reads this), you're welcome to help yourself if you'd like to check out their sound.

On Victoria's Secret:
I especially liked Ray Vecchio, his hurt when he felt left out at first, followed by the total unswerving devotion to his best friend. That's the sort of relationship that just makes me sigh happily to see.
Oh, yes, completely agree. RayV was wonderful. and the fan reading about the end of this ep is intriguing: did Ray really accidentally shoot Benny? Or was he kindof, maybe, subconsciously really angry with Benny for running away with Victoria? (he had mortgaged his own house to meet Fraser's bail money, after all, and it would be forfeit if Fraser skipped town to run away with Victoria.) It is an interesting reading that brings a lot of grey into this, more than was there in the first place, even. And this reading is also interesting in light of the *next* episode after this--that deals with the aftermath of VS--with Fraser in the hospital. Fraser is *mad* at RayV for shooting him...
The very ending bothered me, because I found Fraser...out of character? It was kind of interesting in that it showed us what

Not I, she whispered very, very quietly while looking around furtively and hoping no one notices...

And I read the first couple of stories in the Buffaloverse but it just didn't hold my interest.
