I just won a bunch of plants off K-bid. I can't wait to go get them, get them planted, and then to see the new growth next spring.
I got:
2 Mount Royal Plums

http://www.hort.net/profile/ros/arome/ And Issai Kiwi Vine
http://gurneys.com/product.asp?pn=13150&bhcd2=1256001965 Those are the links that I got them from obviously, but they show the plants well so you can get an idea of when I got. I'm still going to need to get the pollinator for the kiwi so it will fruit, but I can pick that up in the spring. I'm super excited about the plums. We plan to redo our whole front yard next spring so it will be a lot of room for fruit trees. I think we settled on the plums and apples. So now I just have to plant these plums just right to take into account what we are doing to the yard next year, so they won't be off for the layout. I'm pretty sure I'm going to put the service berry and maybe the chokeberry on the south side of my garage so they can get lots of sunlight and make me some big and juicy berries. Just need to get the rose bushes out that are planted there now. I'm not quite sure about the kiwi yet, but since its a vine I'm thinking a trellis near the house in one of the small gardens.
And I already asked, and its still ok to plant this late in the year too. I was worried about that. And I asked about the right pollinators for each plant and whatnot too.
I'm excited! More edible plants for my yard!
