So Nick finally arrived around 2am. I can't believe he actually drove all that way. I'm convinced that the people in the room next door were selling something, and it was getting pretty obnoxious. We were both completely exhausted and thus, vowed to go right to sleep, but that didn't happen uptil about 6am. :) no complaints though. Unfortunetly, check out was at 11, so at 9:45 I was awake and in the shower once again.
Went to Bob's Big Boy for breakfast, but that was kinf of a mistake, as they don't seem to have ever heard of anything vege besides omlettes. Mmm, egg, my favourite *vomit*
Then I decided that I should probably get the "check engine" light taken car of on the Toyota before I headed out into the desert on it. So we finally found a Toyota dealership. We hung out under the sign outside for a while waiting for the car. It was pretty uneventful. After a lot longer than the promised hour, the car was ready to be returned to me, and they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. They just reset the computer and gave it back to me. Thats a comforting thought.
Since driving through the desert invokes psychosis in and of itself, no sleep-deprivation required, we decided to take a nap before we headed out. We found an abandoned building that had a lot of shade on the side of it, and decided to crash out there. It was nice until some nosy guy wanted to know what we were doing.
Then I had my obligitory hormone-induced self-esteem crisis, which only lasted long enough to express my resentment toward Nick's assured success in MPV161.
We had dinner at the most surprising restaurant I have ever been to. The place was called Woody's Cocky Bull, at the corner of 395 and 18, and it looks like the biggest hick steakhouse I have ever seen. However, the place actually has amazing food. They have great pizza, and great vegetarian food. Its incredible. You really would never guess to stop there.
I somewhat cheated on the next part of the trip, and 1.) drove at night 2.) drove on Interstate 15 to Vegas. But hey, Vegas looks MUCH better after dark.
I had called the Las Vegas International Hostel and made a reservation, and my book informed me that the Hostel was located at 1208 S. Las Vegas BLVD. There is, in fact, a hostel at that address, but it's not the one for which I had the phone number to. That was kind of a pain, but it happens often, and they sent me on my merry way, to a hostel in a much scarier part of town, but on the inside it is much nicer, actually.
After I checked in I went back down to the Strip. I forgot that not only was it Saturday night, but it is spring break. It was madness, sheer and utter madness. I have never seen such a collection of drunken idiots in my whole life. Once again, I am astonished at male stupidity. Honestly WHAT is supposed to be attractive about a guy loudly inquiring as to "wat you doin" or the best one I have heard yet "thats a big camera"
Yes, yes it is, and you are a big moron.
