Three Drabbles
Thank you to the people who participated in this meme. It was really fun and gave my muse a little kick start. Now, on to the drabbles.

It happens quickly. One moment she feels as though she’s sailing through the clouds, walking on air is the expression, she believes, and the next, she is crashing down to earth, landing hard on the unforgiving ground.
Her happiness gives way quickly to melancholy as she straddles both, her arms wrapped around the man that she loves, the man that had been returned to her the day before, who hadn’t left her side or her sight since, but her eyes cast to the side, watching Sayid dig a hole in the ground.
Shannon will be buried later that day, and the sight of the beginning of that process sends a chill through Sun. Because even this happy moment, when her husband and her friends have been returned to her - to all of them - is laced with tragedy and loss.
Sun tightens her arms around her husband, and closes her eyes against his shoulder blade.

Reading used the be a way to escape his surroundings. The island. The people. A way to pretend that he was somwhere else so that he didn’t have to concentrate on where he was.
It wasn’t like that now. He couldn’t escape where he was. Who he was with. And it didn’t seem to matter to him much anymore. He wasn’t reading to escape them anymore.
He wasn’t reading to escape the people around him; he was reading to try to forget the one person that wasn’t there anymore.

He sees her being lead into the cell he had just vacated, hands behind her, bound in steel. Like his.
She looks like a prisoner now. Not like she had when she told him her story, that Ben was letting her leave. Letting her go home.
He hadn't wanted to believe her, convinced that he was being lead around, manipulated, lied to yet again. But he sees her being locked away in that windowless, cold room, and he believes her. He feels for her.
And just like that, that quickly, she wins.
