Hee! I wrote a fic about BSG "Kara" and received one about SV "Kara".

Smallville fic for me and it is awesome:
ancarett  wrote "Rao's Little Cousin" for me at ninebillion.
Summary: One sunny afternoon, Clark learns something more about Krypton and his cousin, Kara. 1,329 words. Rated: G (Suitable for All Ages). Spoilers: for the first half of season seven.

This story's over-arching tone is of hope, which is the essence of the Superman mythos for me. Clark and Kara's characterization is just right and ancarett shows them clearly still getting to know each other, yet with a strong family bond. Their dialogue has weight without being heavy. The humor is organic, playful and genuinely funny. Yet, it's balanced with the deep pain of their losses. The learning in their conversation is reciprocal and respectful. I'm extremely happy with what she's written and I love it to pieces. ♥

My first Battlestar Galactica fic:
I wrote "Good Hunting" for rivrea  at ninebillion.
Summary: Kara prays the hymn to Artemis every night, trying to believe in divine motherhood. 1,225 words. Rated: TEEN for violence. Spoilers: through "Maelstrom".

Major thanks to bop_radar for her beta, holding my hand and helping with BSG canon, and also to sabaceanbabe for the additional beta.
rivrea  called the fic "very much in sync with the show" and said that I used her prompt "to great effect". *breathes sigh of relief* I was really happy to be assigned her requests because I'd gotten bunnies immediately upon reading them during sign-ups. However, writing from Starbuck's pov was a challenge for me. I think I succeeded and I'm really glad I did it. :D

Feedback is precious, loved, and adored.

ETA: The master-list for ninebillion fic is here. Alias, Blakes7, BSG2003, BtVS, Doctor Who, Firefly, Greek Mythology, His Dark Materials (book), NCIS, SGA, Smallville, and Supernatural are represented.
"Good Hunting" x-posted to bsg_women.
