Shifty, cold, wonderful, ear-splitting, head-aching, glow-stick-breaking, sky-exploding fun.
That was my Canada day.
I got a glow stick, got some whisky in me and danced to rock and roll oldies played live with one of my best friends at a park. Then they turned out all the lights and the sky exploded for awhile, while they played corresponding music.
The fireworks were perfect.
The music was perfect.
I was cold and bordering on lonely, seeing as couples all around me were embracing jubilently, however, I still felt like throwing my hands up and embracing the sparkling sky. I even got a small swell of patriotic sentiment when they played 'O Canada' which I don't think has ever happened before.
My ears still ache a little from how loud everything was, but it's worth it.
I still see the sparkly sky when I close my eyes...
