I have enough trouble dealing with any Doctor regenerating, so when they actually pass on it breaks my heart. You made it very plain that John is the Doctor. Rose's decision to enter into a physical relationship with John was based on that very fact.
Love this: We always see him in motion, partly because he’s running away, but also partly for the joy of running. I think he does like to discover, experience, and learn even after 900 years of doing so. The Doctor may be a bit darker since the reboot, but at his heart he is full of joy.
I am sure John would have lost the will to love without Rose by his side. There was a rumor about how the Ninth Doctor was to have regenerated if CE had stayed one more season. Rose was going to be trapped in Pete's World, just like Doomsday, and Nine was to have regenerated due to a broken heart(s). That would have killed me dead, full stop. There is a fanfiction out there that used that concept and it has left me traumatized. Give me a happy ending any time.
YES. I cried at The Parting of the Ways and I BAWLED at the final moments of The End of Time part 2. People get confused because they're fictional characters--but they're not. They're real to you and me because we know them, we share in their sorrows and their joys, we laugh with them and yell at them when they do things that irritate us.
I love what Amy says about the Doctor--a boy and his box, off to see the universe. At the heart of him, that's who he is. And it should show. With Rose and especially as 10 he was so completely FULL of joy that it overflowed and touched everything that he did--because he was the Doctor and he was in love with Rose Tyler, and I believe he always will be.
That is horribly sad. Did you at least have a good supply of fluff nearby? I can't read sad things (like Behind Closed Doors) without fluff.
I still cry during those episodes. Even after all these years I cannot help it.
Yes, I applied a copious amount of fluff but still it sticks in my brain. Rose was pregnant with their child too and that made it so much worse. Jack was there for him but still!
They are real to me and always will be. I wouldn't be reading fanfiction if they were not.
Me too! My brother is all 'why are you crying this isn't real' and I'm all 'it totally is! RIP OUT MY HEART WHY DON'T YOU?'
I want to reread 'Behind Closed Doors' because it was so awesome but I don't because then I'm going to be curled up in bed crying and I'm really tired of crying at the moment.

Thank you for the insights I really enjoyed them.
