What I have been up to the last few days.
Thursday: Work. Not fun to have to go to work at 9 the day after our Constitution Day. But I had to. And when I arrived, the guy delivering our new delivery of toys were early! 44 stacks of toys. I told Alex and Linda to place them around. I took the reshop carriages.
Was off work at 17. So tired when I got home. Watched some tv and just relaxed. Went to bed around 11.
Friday: Woke up at 6AM, because it POURED outside. Got some sleep until 9, and got up. Took a trip tp town as I had something to fix. Got tickets for X Men: The Last Stand on the 24th. (We get it 2 days before everybody else! Mwhuahhahah!)
Bought something to drink, as I was going to have an “all girls” party.
Came home around 1.30 and just relaxed until I had to go meet Camilla. Just as I was going out the door, Elin arrived, so we both went to meet Camilla. They gave me my birthday present 3 weeks early, as they’re not here on the day. Got a salad spinner. One of the few things I wanted.
Started the party around 6. Called
beluga to hear when she was arriving. (We know you too well)
So we drank and talked until
beluga arrived around 9PM. Had a little SingStar contest and I had NO idea that Elin could sing off key, but she did. Hehe
Gave beluga (one of) her birthday presents too early. We wanted to see her reaction. (Gave her a picture of Jensen Ackles from Supernatural.) She jumped up and down, hugging the picture.
Elin and beluga left around midnight, but Camilla stayed a bit longer. She left around 1.30AM. We were both falling asleep by then, so she decided she didn’t want to wait for her boyfriend. (He was at a friends house a few km away)
Got to bed around 2. Dead tired.
Saturday: Woke up at 9. Fell back to sleep, but was rudely awaken by an SMS from my mother. She wanted me to join her as she was going to town. So I did. Got picked up just before 11 . Found something I needed (a toilet paper holder, hangers to the bathroom door and screws to the concrete wall) Got home around 14 and watched the last two episodes of season 2 of 21 Jump Street and the first 4 of season 3, before tuning in to see ESC.
Didn’t know that Maria Menounos was hosting! (being half Greek it’s not a surprise really)
Here are my thoughts on the contestants:
1 Switzerland. Ok, nothing special
2 Moldova. Ricky Martin wannabe
3. Israel. Ok, catchy
4. Latvia. Sounded like Boyzvoice! (Norwegian “pop” group. )
5. Norway. The first to sing in Norwegian in years, plus Hardingfiddle!
6. Spain. BORING! (Las Ketchup sucks)
7 Malta. Knew the melody even though I’ve never heard the song!
8 Germany. Cowboy feel. Little variation. Boring
9 Denmark. Catchy, even though the singer screamed instead of singing at some point
10 Russia. Looked like an Idol contestant and sang like one too
11 Macedonia. Sang off key. AWFUL!
12 Romania. Techno song. Can get a high rotation at clubs. Catchy
13 Bosnia Herzegovina. Ok. Nothing too special
14 Lithuania. Should be the song that wins just because of the name! (We are the winners of Eurovision)
15 United Kingdom. A rapper at ESC? Ok..
16 Greece. Cool guitar riff. Nothing else
17 Finland. Heavy Metal! Best song so far!
18 Ukraine. Shakira wannabe
19 France. Another ballad from France. Not a shocker
20 Croatia. River Dance from Croatia
21 Ireland. Typical Ireland song.
22 Sweden. Uhm? Carola? Sorry Sweden, but try get some new singers!
23 Turkey. 70’s Disco song
24 Armenia. (First timers!) Sounded like a Bollywood song
Verdict: Let FINLAND win!
