「No matter how old he gets, a man is a young boy. He plays the fool in front of people because he wants to be an entertainer who makes everyone have fun.」
“A man’s decoration”! These are my hands right after the home run project’s last challenge. Even thinking about it later, that day many happenings occurred that’d make you think “amazing~!” to the point you’d think God came down one after the other. Somehow, a miraculous power was working. The result was… Watch “Going!”!
No matter how old they get, men will always have a boyish side. Me too, when I was together with (Suzuki) Fuku during the movie filming, I was making merry with the enthusiasm of a primary school 2nd year boy. Doing stuff like sliding on the floor of the costume room naked, wearing only Bem’s scarf and pants (laughs). Boys aren’t mere idiots. They also have a side of them that want people around them to laugh, therefore they play the fools. Flipping skirts, which was popular in primary school, wasn’t just a prank: it was a way to impress the girl you liked. But in my case, I flipped the skirts of the girls I liked, but I didn’t flip the skirt of the girl I really liked. In front of her I used the indirect show off method of, “I’ll show you, I’ll flip the other girls’ skirts” (laughs). Probably that side of me hasn’t changed even now. I don’t directly begin to talk to the girl I like most, but while talking with other people I try to enter into that girl’s field of vision from time to time, something like this (laughs). This is unconscious, but it might be a type of boyism.
Even habitually there are many moments when I feel the boy inside of me. First of all, because KAT-TUN itself is totally like a male school group. When all the members are together, the constraint of an idol disappear. We fool around and go along with stupid and ridiculous jokes, or we have fun saying childish dirty jokes (laughs).
I think that the image the world has, that is boys = simple-minded, stupid and perverts, is overall correct. But you know, there are also parts that don’t fit this so-called image.
For example, the idea that “men like beauties” is absolutely a girl’s preconception. In the case where the woman is only about appearance, a man ends up thinking she’s enough as a “one-day hot spring”. For a hot spring I want to soak in every day, as expected, I choose upon the heart more than the appearance. You know, boys don’t cling to friends of the same sex like girls. We entrust our heart most to the lover we have at that period of time, so it’s normal that we give greater importance to the quality of her heart and if we feel comfortable with her. At least, I’m like that. Without limiting to love, when I like someone for real, in the end I’m always “dejected”.
Thinking about it, when I had just debuted, around my teen years. When I went to eat at an acquaintance’s restaurant, I received all the attention and suddenly I felt uncomfortable. Even though I was still in my teens, the atmosphere came to a point like “drink some alcohol too!”… Even though I was declining, I was in trouble, till one person among them nonchalantly guided me out “let’s go over there!” and handed me over oolong tea without a word. In that moment, I fell for that person (laughs). He took into consideration my real thoughts and nonchalantly saved me. I think I was hit by his generosity and kind tact. Men and women, the moment I like someone, it’s always a moment like that.
Before conveying with words, I’d like the other to read my atmosphere.
In other words, the “atmosphere” is important. A person that skillfully reads my atmosphere and comes in contact with me. That girl herself is a girl that creates a charming atmosphere that makes you want to enter in contact with her without thinking. Men have a relevant side that wants to convey anything through the “atmosphere” more than words. When I’m in a bad mood, I don’t want to be asked “something happened?” I would like her to simply be by my side and say, “what if you take a bath~?” (laughs).
A girl that even in front of people reads the atmosphere and can behave as consequence would be good. You know, opposed to the fact that in front of people men devote themselves in being an entertainer who makes everyone have fun, when they’re alone with their lover, they want to be an artist who expresses his true self. Me in particular, since I’m constantly an entertainer when I’m outside, when I’m at home I want to show my true self honestly with all my might (laughs). I want her to understand this “boyism” of mine, and I also want her to be like this. More than showing off in front of everyone, a person that improves the place’s atmosphere and when it’s the two of us alone, helps me free the true me, is good. In front of such a woman, a man feels comfortable and I think he can be forever a boy.

2012 violently dashed away in a flash. For the 4-days holiday he took after a long time during the second half of October, Kamenashi-kun carried out a trip to Paris. We’re interested, who were the people travelling with him? “The first two days I was alone, the second half I was together with my mother and my niece (laughs). The first half I did nothing but shopping alone, the second half we travelled to The Famous Tourist Spots. Since I went there totally without plan, I travelled casually whichever way the wind carried me…. I ate my beloved truffle, I could drink delicious wine, it was fun. After this, I grew a desire to travel much more the next year too!”
