I've been mildly sick for the past few days, but yesterday into today it got much worse. Not only was I carded by the check-out lady at CVS when I tried to pick up some meds (and, btw, they were out of everything but Dayquil, Nyquil, CVS brand, and Tylenol Liquid. EVERYTHING. I have never been so tempted to dare Dayquil as I was then... I had to call
margolia and gain her support and strength in purchasing Tylenol Liquid) but I became dizzy and spent 8 hours reading (inevitably) 30 pages of Linguistics readings.
To my credit, my notes are actually intelligible.
Today I was improved, but was still dizzy enough that I'm skipping my Comparative Politics Workshop and have been watching Young Frankenstein (since it's certainly better than spending 8 hours sweating... I mean, staring blankly at my computer screen).
In other news, thanks to
lonestarfruit's comment on facebook (I know, I know) I have started toying with
My Plate to augment my "get healthy or turn out like my mum and not be able to walk a city block without collapsing" initiative. The calorie thing is interesting, but not that important since I nixed the pigging out in August; the really cool thing is how the app breaks down your daily intake totals.
Like many Americans, my fiber intake is crap. I knew it wasn't good before this cute app, but even with the approximations the app has it's still crap. I'm ranging anywhere from 4 grams to 17, which is under the site's recommended 25 grams. However, now that I've been looking into it, 30-40 grams is more normally recommended. Geez.
So, I'm looking at adding a couple of snacks a day, and eating more oatmeal.
Note to self -> oatmeal, avocado, raspberries, green peas, split peas!!!; apples, bananas, blueberries, FIGS, pears, spinach, STRAWBERRIES!!
