Mini Vacation! Ranting lol

Feb 25, 2022 02:24

So... I scheduled a week of vacation because honestly I need an F-ing break. lol. But I expected to be finished with the spring reset before I went, and it's NOT DONE after a WHOLE MONTH. Why? because a) it's HUGE, and b) right after we started working on it 5 people were out with freaking COVID (or in a couple of cases a couple of people were out pretending they didn't have Covid and refusing to test to prove it), one of those 5 was my primary help with the reset. The other person helping had a mini-vacation for her birthday over the long weekend and then was so behind on her regular duties that she has never been able to get back to the reset she was supposed to be helping with.

ANYWAY. because it's not finished, I told my boss I didn't want to be on vacation for a week. so I'm just taking three days, bracketed with my normal days off. Then I'll go back Monday and start working on the freaking reset again. Once it's finished, I'm going to reschedule my vacation for the full week... I might even take 9 days, because at this point I have almost 3 weeks to use. lol.

So Yesterday was my day off, but I had to get up and do a MS Teams call for the final session of my spring training. This is where we learn about new products coming out for the spring training. It goes hand in hand with the spring reset on the cosmetics wall and actually pretty much everywhere else in cosmetics is also resetting. So I didn't got to sleep in like I wanted to. So today, I slept until I was finished sleeping. Well... mostly... I think I stayed up later and slept later and probably got only slightly more sleep... because I don't actually know how to sleep. I'm a short sleeper and I'm lucky if I sleep 6 hours most of the time. I think I slept 7 possibly, but I don't actually know what time I went to bed.

Today I expected to pretty much just do NOTHING all day, but I didn't. I actually moved my GINORMOUS craft table over to the other side of the room. OMG it looks so much better over there. Now I can get my music creation station out from behind the door, and into the dormer section over here. I'm going to build some sort of built in storage in that corner behind the door for the storage of ALL CREATION materials and tools that aren't in use. So it might contain not only my spare sewing machine, bit also my snare drum, and some bags of yarn, and a violin, and oooh! since the wall is trianglar and I planned to build it triangular, I can make a special spot just for my lap harp. I like that. It's freaking brilliant! Also in the ALL CREATION storage facility I can put things like my multi-tool drill (Matrix has a jigsaw, a small circular saw, and a router as well as a drill and something else I didn't get) and my grinder.

So I have made great strides today for a day I planned to sit on my ass and do NOTHING, to get things done after all, including finally figuring out how to break into the third scene in Chasing the Trail - Chapter 18 - What If?. I feel like I just hadn't got a good enough feel of how I was seeing Molly's personality. I've needed to get to know her myself before I could write her. I wanted to understand what Al sees in her beyond the fact that she's cute and he says she looks like a movie star. Well, it turns out she does. She looks a lot like Marion Davies, but with dark hair. She's tall and slender, and graceful, has some kind of cute accent that Al likes. All I hear is this 1920s movie comical movie actress voice somewhere between stereotypical Brooklyn accent and the Classic Mid-Atlantic/Trans-Atlantic accent. But she plays up the Brooklyn sounding aspect when she's teasing Al about something. When she's serious, it's softer and more of the Trans-Atlantic sounding accent. So now that I have a pretty good grasp of her, I'm no longer staring at the screen. I'm actually getting words out

So YAY! Things!

This was way longer than I expected
