I have to say that in this terrible year, Supergirl has been the one tiny ray of sunshine. I am seriously in love with this show, guys. I initially found it a tad cheesy but it has grown into so much more than that, and showed that comic book adaptations don't need to be grimdark or even particularly serious to be good, yet still managed to tackle

She was a bit much for me in the beginning too (although in fairness, the show has improved) but I'm all about the Kara love these days. Watching her and Barry is the equivalent of watching puppies playing in a meadow.

I TOTALLY AGREE. I've been saying for literally years, on and offline, that the ideas that grimdark is deeper or better and that optimism is silly DRIVE ME INSANE and often go along with justifying a lot of rape scenes. So Supergirl is exactly what I need. And the writing's getting better all the time I think.
